I'm still awake because I got called out to work at 11.30pm and I've only just got in .

I had hoped for a quiet Christmas Day at least but hey ho , it's what I get paid for .

DH obviously kicked off and has accused me of having an affair . He knows my job role and this is not an unusual Occurrence so I'm pissed off with him and can't sleep even though I'm back home now .

I'm making plans to get out of here but my tongue is red raw from bitting it to keep the peace just a little bit longer until I can do what I need to .

Why are you still up ?

Had a drink last night for the first time in months then had a crazy dream about the postman wanting to marry me, saying he would never be on his phone all the time like DH and all his attention would be on me. Hip hurts because I have to lay on that side only otherwise my hernia irritates the vagus nerve making my heart skips beats which I hate. Going to get up now abs have tea while watching Emily in Paris!

Had vivid and unpleasant work dream, and woke up way too hot. These velour PJs are not ideal for bed.. Now I am wide awake even though tired.
For those on night shifts - I hope it passes quickly.

I'm up because lately I'm always awake at 5.... my wife died a little over a year ago and it turns out Christmas is a time when I miss her hugely - like every other bloody day. I sometimes don't know how I'm going to... well, how everything. I'm still struggling to understand how she's gone and what my life is without her

I’m awake with an issue that I’m stressing about and wondering if I need to see the GP about it but don’t want to bother them unnecessarily especially with how stretched they are with covid etc Tried to use google to help but have scared myself now and can’t get back to sleep for worrying x

Went to bed too early is the most likely reason . Toying with taking the dog for a run along the Thames in an hour or so .
OP your husband is an idiot .

Been awake for the last hour feeding and settling three month old baby. He’s asleep now but I’m wide awake. I have serious guilt for losing my temper with our three year olds yesterday. She was an absolute horror all day and I know it’s because she’s only three and it’s all typical behaviour in the face of an overwhelming day, but with every nice thing I’d planned ending in screaming, I lost my shit by dinner time, shouted and chucked the toy car she’d just thrown at me in the bin. Blush Sad

Fed my month old baby and for bloody once he was sleeping silently rather than grunting and straining as usual and I've not been able to sleep for god knows what reason and its been 2 hours and he will be up for another feed soon Angry so annoyed with myself, I need all the sleep I can get right now.

Woke up at 2. Listened to dh snoring for 2hrs and got up at 4. Usually get up at 330am for work anyway. No way to reset my internal alarm for Christmas.

GoodnightGrandma · 26/12/2021 06:41

I was awake at 2am, 4am, 5am, and finally got up at 6am.
Not having any wine tonight as I know it doesn’t help, that plus peri menopause makes sleep a nightmare.

SparkleWhale · 26/12/2021 06:42

Haven't been able to sleep for about two weeks so last night took a Nytol at 8pm and slept soundly until 5am when DH woke up for work. Can't get back to sleep so starting my day early.

autieok · 26/12/2021 06:49

Didn't sleep Christmas Eve as was anxious my son didn't get enough for Xmas (he was totally happy on Xmas day) struggled to sleep last night as dd has covid so our plans have been scuppered and she has been near my unvaccinated sister and elderly parents .

Christmas is the worst for grief @Weedoogie. Hang in there- it will get better.
