Cant get into hygienist for 6 months. My teeth are clogged up and dirty from tea coffee etc during lockdown and closures. Ive seen that you can buy yr own device for scraping plaque off teeth and discolouration etv.

Anyone recommend?

I don't have much plaque build up and I've been to a hygienist twice in my life. Use a manual toothbrush morning and night and floss once a day before bed. I think its technique more than tools that makes the difference.

You can catch plaque from snogging. You might want to get your partner an appointment too Grin

I’ve been back and fore to the hygienist as my ex left me with different teeth and I missed the dentist’s reassurance that they were ok.

I would wait to see the hygienist if it was me OP.

I invested in an Oral B io toothbrush and the hygienist has commented how well everything looks.

I recommend it anyway (they are dear but I got mine on special offer in Boots and have not looked back)

I appreciate this is an old thread, but was reading it the other day, so presumably people do happen across it from time to time. Wanted to add I've just used my new ultrasonic tartar scraper and it worked fab. Tartar gone, and no pain or mishaps or anything. Instructions recommended sterilising the tips with alcohol, which I did.

OP, hope you've managed to get an appointment with your hygienist by now!
