Is this infected?

I’m well aware that this looks like some monster from the deep but it’s actually a finger! Is this infected or just scraped and angry? I have had it about a week or so and it’s getting quite painful to touch. Don’t want to waste the GP’s time but is it worth a trip to the Chemists? Thank you. Hope it doesn’t give anyone nightmares!

It's not at all actually. I was only trying to help and I actually was worried that this person's first post wasn't very clear. Believe me I work in a place with medical background and you would be surprised how literal people take advice. It gas got childish now and I just hope OP gets sorted.
