Awake since 4am, refused to get out of bed. Tossing and turning.
Eventually started with a headache, so had to get up for painkillers.
This is caused by Xmas shopping stress. Struggling with what to get my kids for surprises. It’s really not worth it !

Always up at 5.30, think it's a menopause thing. Today it's a sinus infection - decided to book a GP call in case I need antibiotics so went on the app, no calls available until a week's time. Not sure what you're meant to do if you're really unwell 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can you not ring for an emergency appointment ?

I've been up a while, opposite reason, I went to bed early with a migraine so I woke early. Here a list of bulky suggestions:

  • dressing gown
  • scarf
  • big tin of biscuits
  • toiletries gift set
  • plant your own bulbs with plant pot and soil etc
  • emergency car breakdown kit in bag
  • blanket
  • picture frame
  • a cool decorative lamp

I never said they were interesting...

I wish you were my mum. She's the opposite - insists on getting me stuff even when I don't really want anything. If just be happy with a nice box of chocolates and do the same for her but ever year there's pressure.

@tangyandsalty definitely phone first thing if you can. Most surgeries have slots for emergency on the day appointments.

Boots own decongestant tablets are an absolute game changer for sinus issues. Far superior to the big name brands.

Up since 5am so not too bad as went to sleep early last night. Woke up coughing though it seems worse at night.now lay awake worrying about stuff as usual. Got a big blistering cold sore too cos I’m run down. Worrying about Xmas, money, kids, stuff I’m behind with for work. My little one vomited yesterday so I’m
hoping she will be better today. Modern life is so hard I just want to have a whole day in my pyjamers and not have to do anything. Thinking of those with scans today and wishing for the very best outcome for you all xx

I've filled in an online form at the GP, I assumed any appointments would be available online but I'll try ringing as well (tried to avoid that as you have to sit on the phone for bloody ages listening to recorded messages and waiting in a queue) I agree about the boots tablets, I have some!

Positivelysober · 10/12/2021 06:59

I've been awake most of the night. Had booster jab yesterday and was fine. Feel so rough. Fever, aches, pain in my right side, feeling a bit sick. It's been the longest night. Gave up and came downstairs at 6 for painkillers and cup of tea.

@Silkieschickens the waiting is almost the worst part I think, the mental health strain is indescribable, so I understand completely. My partner actually said to me he was more concerned about my mental health decline than he was about the cancer, I’ve been in such a state! I don’t know if you’re in a position to, but if you are, definitely keep chasing them for your results, I did and got them given to me over the phone in the end because I think they could hear that I was bordering hysterical. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, too damn many of us isn’t there! Keep breathing is the only thing I can say. I hope today is an easier day for you xx

Sorry for the thread derail everyone, hope everyone is ok and managing their own struggles too x

Silkieschickens · 10/12/2021 12:27

Thanks TwoBoys Thats interesting can get results over phone, I would prefer that, I wish you could just do video from home, its horrible being told you have cancer there when you have to be alone. My husband is also very worried but about me dying, he cries if I say I am scared but he is great.

eightmaidsamilking · 10/12/2021 17:04

Don't apologise TwoBoys. I am sorry I missed that you were waiting for a diagnosis too earlier today. Sending you both strength, it must be bloody awful.

Wineandroses3 · 10/12/2021 20:47

Silkies I hope it went ok for you today x

Silkieschickens · 10/12/2021 22:26

Thanks, ct was fine but another 10 days before find out if at stage 4 and incurable or stage 3 and then a 6 week further wait with no treatment due to delays and wont let me see a doctor only a nurse. Just completely broken system. Guess its cheaper if people die.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 11/12/2021 16:35

@eightmaidsamilking no, I’ve already had my diagnosis and I’ve started receiving treatment, thank you anyway 🙂

@Silkieschickens it varies so much from area to area. No harm in asking if they’ll contact you by phone to discuss, even if just to help the ‘what if’s’ and the non-stop mind chatter! Hope today is a better day for you x
