Want to go somewhere different but also easy to get to. Any recommendations?

Another vote for Ave Mario - need to book 1 month ahead if you want a weekend booking - unless you want to risk it and do a walk in. I’ve heard Bunga Bunga is fun but haven’t been!

Ciro’s Pizza Pomodoro or El Pirata

Madera at Treehouse - very cool (with an in-house DJ), great food, amazing views

Snoopsnoggysnog · 07/12/2021 23:26

Pizza pomodoro

Fr0thandBubble · 07/12/2021 23:27

And if you’re looking for really quirky (but very fun) try Tiroler Hut.

Cascais · 07/12/2021 23:27

Sarastro

BarkminsterBlue · 07/12/2021 23:29

YY Sketch

SmallProvincial · 07/12/2021 23:32

In my experience though Circus is fun, the food is below average.

Ditto Sketch. Fun, but disappointing food.

That having been said I can't think of anywhere fun with good food...

Brainygaga · 07/12/2021 23:42

Also recommend The Jam

DavidSPumpkins · 07/12/2021 23:50

I love Sarastro.

GirlOnPfizer · 08/12/2021 00:57

I thought Sarastro had closed a long time ago. Delighted to see that it’s still going. It used to be one of my favourite haunts.

I had a lovely afternoon tea at Sketch but that was probably five years ago and I’m sure it wasn’t particularly expensive but I’ve just looked at the menus and it’s the same price as Claridge’s! Admittedly probably not appealing to most 17 year olds.

@SortCode

Us and 2 x 17 year olds Bit of a lively atmosphere Different food Maybe entertainment or music

Saw Circus...that's what made me think of if there were any others

Not circus they'll cringe through it!

Disjoin

@Valmur

The Jam on King’s Road is quirky.
Is this still open?
Cam2020 · 08/12/2021 13:34

Ditto Sketch. Fun, but disappointing food.

Completely agree. You're paying for art and novelty toilets.

whereisthekey · 08/12/2021 19:06

ohh yes to Archipelago Grin

TheBlessedCheesemaker · 08/12/2021 19:12

Singeasy.

Cruisinforcroissant · 08/12/2021 19:33

Big easy Chelsea - ask for down stairs as live music there.

Tal45 · 08/12/2021 19:46

So many restaurants in London to try out! Sarastro is fun pre theatre but I didn't rate the food there.

Charley50 · 08/12/2021 19:50

@MavisMonkey

Oh and I always used to really like Wong Kei in Chinatown as the staff were famously rude 😁
Yeah back in the Wag Club days
