Dd4 has 2 cardigans and 1 sweatshirt. Cardigans get worn mostly. Just noticed one of her cardigans is starting to get a bit old from washing regularly (she's in reception).

2 logo ones that she wore through Reception and now in year 1. She doesn't feel the cold though, so I think doesn't wear it much and it doesn't get dirty.

  1. Plus a fleece for when it's really chilly. I found that if they had no fallback option theyve always taken much better care of them and have never lost one yet.

Mine is a preschooler, he has 5 got the 5 days a week he's there for. 1 logo one and 2 packs of 2 from the supermarket. They tend to only last a day by the times he's played outside, paint, playdough, messy play at nursery, wiped his nose on it, spilled his dinner on it etc etc. Occasionally 1 jumper lasts 2 days but it's rare. We don't have a tumble dryer so I prefer to have extras so I don't panic and end up drying it with a hairdryer or something!

two sweaters and two pairs of trousers (one on, one in the wash) and six shirts, that are ironed over the weekend and ready to grab & go each morning.

One logo cardigan, four supermarket ones for reception dd. Dd1 in year 2 has one logo and two supermarket ones and she often comes home perfectly clean. Dd2 gets covered in paint, food, snot, playdoh...

At Primary Dd used to have 5, 3 in her current size and 2 in the next size up. This way I only ever had to replace 3 at a time and if needed the bigger ones were wearable. She also had 5 shirts and 5 pairs of trousers. It made mornings much less stressful knowing every thing was ready, I just did a white and a dark uniform wash on Friday and had everything hung up ready for the next week by Saturday pm.

Before I did this I'd be rushing around in the morning or trying to wash things the night before, washing the jumpers often also meant they didn't last as long. The jumpers I either bought from the school shop for £££ or the school sometimes sold donated ones for £1, so I'd stock up there instead.

It's worth putting on the school Facebook page or similar if there is one that you want new jumpers as people are often pleased to hand them down when there children have outgrown them, this is also better for the environment than buying new.

We have six full sets of uniform, one clean for each day and an emergency one incase he spills breakfast down him or we go away for the weekend and he needs it for
Monday morning.

I do but mostly plain sweatshirts though and just one logo one.

Sprogonthetyne · 01/12/2021 18:51

5 with logo's plus 2 emergency plain ones (1 is in a bag at school). DS is in reception and has ASD which affects his fine moter skills. I've never seen him eat a meal without spilling something down his front.

One for each day. In the beginning she would forget one or they got dirty after a day playing in school.

Later they need a fresh one each day when they start sweating and smelling thanks to polycotton fabric.

As I work I don't have time to wash mid-week so we bought 5 sets every time.

CrabbyCat · 01/12/2021 18:55

We aren't allowed the non logo ones, so 2 logo ones as they are expensive (20 pounds each new, although I got them 2nd hand). They have one on the go and one spare in case it gets dirty. They have clean shirts every day, but not clean cardigans / jumpers.

2 of the smart uniform and 2 PE ones each
