I had a job interview once where they asked me what my favourite meal was. My mind went blank and I said 'ratatouille' as I'd had it the night before and suddenly couldn't think of any other meal in the world.
They looked ridiculously surprised and asked why, which was a stupid question and I had no answer, clearly. I ended up saying "I just really like CHOPPING THINGS" and did some kind of weird serial killer knife motion because I didn't know what else to do with the silence that ensued.
I did get the job but they admitted to me years later that the pool of candidates was particularly crap.
