I used to watch old black and white films on BBC2 on rainy days in the school summer holidays. To the list of leading men of Hollywood's golden era already mentioned, I would add Tyrone Power and Louis Jourdan.

I can’t do links but would like to throw Peter O’Toole ( Lawrence of Arabia was my benchmark for men for many years until I got real and lowered my expectations) into the mix. And I will add in Terence Stamp as well. I can hardly bear to remember how stunning Albert Finney was as a young man because he didn’t live up to the adage of men ageing well, but he deserves a mention.

And I will add in Terence Stamp as well. I can hardly bear to remember how stunning Albert Finney was as a young man because he didn’t live up to the adage of men ageing well, but he deserves a mention.
