To report again?

I've reported my neighbour to social services twice and they've done nothing. He's always drunk, constantly angry, shouts at his kid all the time. We can hear them though the ceiling of our tenement flat. We live on the next street to his kids school, he never takes him.

He's drunk again tonight. I've just had surgery for a miscarriage and we could hear him shouting at his kid. I called the police and they said because it's a civil disturbance they won't come out. The kid is 6.

Do I keep reporting until social do something? AngryHmm

I wouldn't mention the miscarriage it's irrelevant, I only mentioned it because I've been at home during the day and not asleep as I usually work nights..

And make no reference to being bothered or annoyed about the noise

Focus squarely on the child and you concerns based on facts rather than feelings

Is it the safeguarding lead I need to speak to?

They don’t give a shit. I’ve got my neighbours on camera swearing at and punching their kids. Nothing was done

Can you record what you can hear and play it back to everyone you are reporting it to?

This is so terrible. I just don’t know what is going on with SC services (actually we all do, massive underfunding). I reported a (drug dealer, police have raided house on numerous occasions) neighbour last year for numerous counts of domestic violence and threats of harming his child and yet child was there living with them for a yr afterwards, and they had already been under social services for a long time, probably since child’s birth. Child was about 3. It seems the mother and child have now moved out so eventually I think they have acted. Definitely keep reporting. The police and SS advised me to keep reporting every time I witnessed an incident.

That's horrendous they won't do anything especially as a lot of neighbours hearing shouting has featured in the Arthur Labinjo-Hughes case. In fact didn't his dad say to a neighbour if you hear him saying don't kill me ignore it.
