New job blues?

I'm sorry - I know I'm very lucky to be employed and hope this doesn't upset anyone. I am very grateful.

But I feel so heartbroken and homesick. I was brilliant in my old job, I knew everything and everyone, and now I just feel small and broken and like I've made a huge mistake. Has anyone else felt like this and how long did it take to go away?

In my job everyone is currently working remotely. We will start getting back to the office in the next couple of months. At least it means I can take copious notes while talking to people on screen.

How's it going @newjobisthisnormal?

First week completed and I am exhausted! Feeling much more positive now and know it was the right choice. Not the easiest choice but the right one.

Enjoy the weekend, I intend to sleep!

I had to give a presentation to my boss's boss yesterday. Of course it turned out she wanted something a bit different from what I was proposing. It's still all very opaque. My goal is that when I return after Christmas break I will feel more settled. So giving myself 5 weeks to get my head around it.
