Any recommendations? I work so need simple recipes that I can throw together.

@Crumblinginside, oohh I think that's also where I've gone wrong. I've been using the 4 hour setting. Usually cos I'm a greedy mare and can't wait 🙄

Ohhh it needs a lot longer than 4 hours for beef. At least 7 I'd say.

Chicken you can do in 4 hours

I do a beef stew with thyme and allspice.

Abdone yes go for a longer stewing time on lower setting. I also agree about where your sisters get their meat from - butcher meat is worth it (I love aldi steaks etc but stewing beer is lovely from the butcher)

Also you cannot beat a parsnip for a bit of sweetness.

TheDogsMother how long would it take in the slow cooker? It sounds delicious
