Trick or Treat traffic

We live in a busy- ish with young families area (3 primary schools and 2 high schools within walking distance). Was expecting a busy night tonight, even last year was busy.
We only had about half a dozen callers throughout all the evening. In the end we set up all the sweets on the porch next to the pumpkin 🎃
We speculated whether it's the pandemic, the weather or the Sunday night.
Was your area busy ?

Havnt had many tonight but it's been raining heavy so I put it down to the weather

We're usually very busy here but less so this year (and nobody last year) so I'm working on the leftover sweets now!

DDs went out and said that far fewer people had pumpkins out for T&T possibly because people can't justify spending the money on sweets this year.

Less busy than usual. We have loads of sweets left over. Fewer houses did it too.

Not as busy as usual here. Think we had about 60-70 kids. Normally we have well over 100. A lot of houses weren’t doing it here this year. And the weather was pretty rubbish as well which I think kept some people at home.

very quiet here. We normally have a constant stream of children and run out of sweets by 7.30. Today we have half a tub left and have only just given up. Weather is fine here as well, so I guess it must be Covid worries putting people off?

1 knock at the door with 2 very enthusiastic kids… only a few sweets in their bag so gave extra.
Doesn’t seem to be a thing around here. I’m the only one with a pumpkin in my street

We had loads tonight. DD's loved it.
Lots of houses decorated in our close. It was so lovely to see. This year was the first year we've ever taken DC trick or treating. Really nice atmosphere full of kids and their parents. DC also enjoyed being on door duty when they'd finished too. Shame the weather turned bad at around 7.30 and put an end to it all.

Some roads near us were quite busy but we went to our friends on the next road and they had only had 4 groups knock on the door.

Our area was very busy, I wasn’t in but we were out trick or treating and there was so many people, one house we knocked on had ran out of candy by 5.30 😂 though I’m guessing they didn’t buy much

Nobody ever comes to our street and nobody decorates either. My friend who lives a few streets away always gets loads and she doesn't decorate her house either. There are more kids where she lives though, there are only 9 kids on our terrace of 12 houses

Busy here. We were out trick and treating so left a bucket of treats (about 100 items) and they were all gone when we got back.

There were swarms of children and parents out, and lots of houses running out by 6pm.

It was very windy here, then torrential rain from 7ish. So we had about half as many as previous years I’d say - a combination of the pumpkins getting blown out (couldn’t find any battery lights!) and the foul weather.

OTOH I took a load of DC’s friends out and they got a big haul, I’d say, with some really well decorated houses but maybe not as many as in previous years.

The weather here was beautiful - clear and mild. Nobody was rushing home, and there was a really nice atmosphere.

Mob scene here. We were clean out and took in the pumpkins about 7pm.

Oh, and I'm Z4 West London.

There was a manic 30 mins here when the weather was the best we were likely to get.

Busy, ran out of sweets by 1845 and we had 99 packs of haribos

We must of had 100+ kids, from singletons to groups of five. I bought bags and bags of sweets but ran out at 7pm, took the pumpkins in and turned off the lights. Still had three more groups come but didn't answer.
