Strange/funny Dreams

Perhaps ones that you wouldn't share in Real Life.

The highlight of mine last night, a friend that I haven't seen in a while getting kicked out of a party for sticking 2 umbrellas up his bum. The quote from my best friend "I'm glad that he's been kicked out, so that he can get the help he needs" Confused

Wonder what that's all about?! Anyone else, strange, inexplicable dreams?

These are all so fascinating and there's comfort for me in knowing others have similar stressful situations.

It started years ago that I used to dream that I'd buried people in the garden, bloody awful.
Or pets. Not buried alive but I think related to loss etc.

I often dream of my back garden now, and I'll go out and the boundary has changed or it's got smaller.

Had that one last night.

I'm often still at college too and I haven't finished my course.

So much stress😄

I regularly dream that I'm naked when I shouldn't be, but although I'm aware of it is like an age thought and I'm not hiding it ashamed. I do not harbour secret desires to exhibit myself. I am comfortable with my body, but I do really enjoy wearing clothes, so not sure what that's about!

I dream every night. Last night I had been invited to Buckingham palace and Charles showed me his recipe for Yorkshire puddings. We sad for a big fancy meal and I spilt egg down my dress and spend the rest of the meal using the table cloth to cover it up.

I had a really vivid one a few weeks ago where I set up a stray cat collection service with my best friend from school, but we were dressed as Ghostbusters and even had the car...no idea where that came from!

Used to have a recurring dream about getting the tube to work and never being able to get to the top of the escalator. I could either stay on it forever or go back down to the platforms, but never get to the ticket hall. Stopped as soon as I left that job so I think it must have been stress related!

My ex refused to talk to me for days once because I’d cheated on him in his dream 😂

He woke all glowering and wouldn’t answer when I asked me what I’d done? You should know was his reply wtf 😳

So glad he’s an ex

@OldTinHat

I also dream about having to walk home but it's an impossible distance and I just walk and walk. 'Home' is always my parents' house.

I used to dream about murders and massacres but when I made the connection that I only had them when on my period, they stopped!

Oh and (sorry, bit boring now!) I always dreamt that I was male. For years and years from such a young age. Then I had DS1 and they stopped 😁

That's so fascinating that you found a connection and that dreams just suddenly stop!

I had one that I was regularly getting from late teens. It was my wedding day. my wedding day but there would always be something wrong; wrong dress delivered, wrong flowers but the most annoying one was that when I was walking up the isle, I could never see my groom's face. I'd always wake up before he'd turn around. This was going on until a few days before my actual wedding to DH. That was the first time I saw a face in that dream, it was him, he was there as I was walking up. Never had that dream ever again since...been 8 years.

I do sometimes dream that my current husband is my ex though and I'm totally confused about it in my dream, trying to rationalise that we broke up many many many years ago and not understanding how can he suddenly be my H 🤣

@HailAdrian

I regularly have dreams where I need the loo and every cubicle is filthy or there's no loo in it, or it's a shower cubicle.

Same.

Thats repressing emotions.

My mother has this dream and she is unable to deal with anybody elses emotions and gets angry with me for expressing mine.

Can't quote the above post, but I thought it was more to do with the fact that you need a pee but you haven't quite woken up properly, so it's more like your brain telling your bladder not to let go yet!

I think I have shared this before

I've had dreams of my Nan and I'm in her flat. One time was with family members that were still alive and also passed away. Other times I was on my own.

I also dreamt about the same Nan, for quite a few months, before a breast cancer diagnosis. Lo and behold once I was diagnosed the dreams stopped.

I'd be here all day if I shared, all the other dreams I remember, from the last 20 years ConfusedSmileGrin

I love the lucid dreaming ones, they are my favourite. One was just wandering around my neighbourhood, choosing this path or another and stopping to look at things as I went, my car, flowers and looked at tiny leaves on bushes and it was all so incredibly detailed and real, I remember thinking wow I’m dreaming and everything looks incredibly real even in micro detail!

Another where some unseen beastie was chasing me up through a tower building and I got to the top room all flustered, and there was no doors or windows. Then I remembered ‘ah it’s ok, this is only a dream, I can make a window over there in the wall and fly off’ and I did, and just stepped out and flew away!

Have had brilliant ones where I’ve gone shopping and bought some fantastic clothes and shoes then been disappointed to find I hadn’t bought any of them when I woke.

The loo one - yep, same here , very often have this one!

Countless dreams where I’ve had a chance meeting with my old best friend from school, and just been so happy to see her and catch up, used to think they were real and disappointed to find they weren’t when I woke. Now when I have them I say to her ‘it’s a shame this is only a dream, but is lovely to see you anyway!’. It was a friendship that ended a long long time ago and was not meant to be, but I do still miss her in RL
