Can you make non-lumpy mash? What's your secret, please?

Is it my masher, my muscle, or am I missing a trick to get lovely lump free mash?

Butter and milk. Mash hard. Then stir with the masher too.. mash..stir.. mash stir.. my Dads method and it makes the nicest in lumpy mash ever..

joseph joseph potato rice - changed our mash completely. Around £20 and so simple to use... game changer.
I bought one a couple of weeks ago, I love it, it's so easy to use and really easy to clean.

Yes, isn't that the posh name for lumpy mash these days - crushed potatoes? It's all I eat. I'm from NI and most of us like something to chew on!! Add some scallions and you won't care about the lumps.
