Please! Recommend me a non-stick frying pan that isn't Tefal

Noticed that my fairly new Tefal frying pan has little spots peeling off the coating. I only use plastic utensils on it, wash by hand with a soft sponge (not scourer), I don't know how this is happening but I'm fed up with it. They never seem to last that long.

I'm a bit bewildered by all the ceramic etc options. Don't want to spend a fortune as I just want a normal frying pan! Can anyone help? thanks

This thread is a bit old now, but we’ve recently refreshed our best frying pan guide with plenty of high-quality, non-stick options recommended by Mumsnetters, including ceramic pans. We hope you find it useful.

I had some pans from Pro Cook which the non stick started peeling off after only about 5 or so years of use. After going through their complaints procedure they said I had been heating my pans up too high to start with instead of a gradual low to medium heating up. I had never heard of needing to do this. So, something to bear in mind with any new non stick pans you get.

@LoveFall

We have a few of the Jamie Oliver tefal hard anodized pans and they seem indestructible. One is deep sided with a glass lid and it has been used often daily for well over ten years.

They clean very easily, are induction friendly, and have good non-stick. If yours was the same line, OP I am surprised but maybe they are not as good now.

I just checked and mine was a bog standard Tefal. Never sure if someone putting their name to a product does mean it's manufactured differently?!

Yes, I paid about half that, for mine!

Sainsburys have got non-stick ceramic pans by Salter. They're very good!

Also recommending green pan from John Lewis. Don’t buy the cheap sets and also be aware that EVOL and the spray oils oxidise on the pan and create the sticky black spots that you can’t get off.

@DampSquidGames

Sainsburys, best frying pan I’ve ever had.
Completely agree! Love my Sainsbury’s speckledly frying pans.

I’m a bit in love with my green pan. Im thinking of buying it a cover so it’s protected from all the other riffraff in the cupboard.
