Hurty hair?

Does anyone else get this? Usually when it needs washing. But if I part my hair in a different way it's a weird mix of pain and pleasure.

Am I odd or is this a thing?

Me too
@Nigellaseed it's the random shooting pain you get up your anus every now and again Grin
Cute name for such an awful awful affliction

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 10/10/2021 20:53

Yes, I get it, though much more strongly if I'm not well. And then I get it on my legs as well - I don't like having the hair on them disturbed when I'm sick.

Bodies are mental.

The only time I have experienced this is when it's been tied up too tightly.so just don't tie it up so tight :)
Actually haven't felt that in years as I hate it so much

flippertyop · 10/10/2021 21:02

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 10/10/2021 21:16

@KineticSand what do you mean? Sair hair is sore hair.

RandomMess · 10/10/2021 21:17

My scalp is very sensitive Sad

GetInThereLewis · 10/10/2021 21:17

A few months ago I had god awful toothache, I remember crying to DH "Even my hair huuurts!"

KineticSand · 10/10/2021 21:20

@JasonMomoasgirlfriend Sorry my comment was supposed to be related to "shooty bum"!

MintyGreenDream · 10/10/2021 21:24

Like a massive bruise on the scalp

girafferafferaffe · 10/10/2021 21:45

Mine hurts when I have it in a pony or bun for too long.

I do remember after having my daughter my scalp was agony for months and months. Brushing hurt and I struggled to pull it back (I have V long hair).

That was how I knew I had flu. Couldn't even stand the duvet touching me because my skin hurt and it felt weird on my unshaved legs

I get this when I haven’t washed my hair for a few days (I usually wash it every day or it gets very greasy). I read somewhere that a build up of yeast can cause a painful scalp, and I think that’s what causes mine.

SirenSays · 11/10/2021 13:42

Yes! I had my hair in a high pony Ariana Grande style for an event the other day. First time in a while I've worn it so tight and high. The pain taking it out was awful! I had to get DH to give me a massage.

EverExhaustedBudgie · 11/10/2021 13:55

Yep! I get hurty hair too. Running my fingers through my hair almost feels like I am being scalped sometimes (ok maybe a bit dramatic, but it hurts lots). Usually when I wake in the morning with crazy bed head. The only way I've found to get rid of it is to wash it & use lots of conditioner.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 13/10/2021 08:27

It definitely makes me more conscious of what direction I stroke a cat in! And I NEVER leave their fur untidy and sticking up, causing them to have to immediately sit down and lick it back into place, unlike DH - who has obviously never experienced hurty hair.

YorkieTheRabbit · 13/10/2021 09:26

If I’ve got a stinking cold both my hair and fingernails hurt Confused my hair also hurts for a few minutes after I untie it.
Javelin arse is weird and painful Shock
