I went back to the hairdresser and told them I didn’t like the hairstyle they spent 4hours doing yesterday! It cost me £200 and I woke up this morning nearly in tears when I looked in the mirror.

What was suppose to be a natural blonde balayage with my natural darker roots is basically a full head of light blonde highlights with 2 bright blonde streaks down the front (think Rogue from Xmen). Apparently that’s the current trend.

Everyone in the salon kept going on about how great it looked.
She then curled my hair, which I usually wear naturally straight.

Took me several walk pasts before I plucked up the courage and went in.

Spoke to a lovely lady and she helped shape and layer the hair so it blended in more, and gave me a blue shampoo which will apparently help tone it down.

I still hate the front but less than before and hopefully after a few washes it will be less noticeable.

Now sitting at home admiring my new backbone (but not my hair Sad )

Thank you.

The rest of the hair, although not what I wanted, is very nice and I could live with that. I’m just fixated on the front strands.

I agree with others it looks fine ... actually, it looks rather like mine does naturally if it's had a decent amount of sun. The very front bits really do go quite a lot lighter than the rest.

I think it looks lovely - very Jennifer Aniston.

The brighter blonde will definitely tone down over the next week or so.

I went to a new place that insisted on curling my hair to finish it off.

This is what I found when I washed it later.

Still trying to grow it out two years later.

If this was your 'new hair, new me' moment and instead it pushed you out of your comfort zone in a different way, you might just find that the 'new' you is ballsier than you imagined!

Teenagers2grownups0 · 07/10/2021 16:16

I’m sure this won’t help and I fully get it’s not what you asked for but it is lovely though!

@DressBitch Wow!!!

I went in for balagage to somewhere new I literally came out darker than I went in I was so upset. But she was so over the top with how nice it looked i didn't have the courage to say I was fuming that I came in to go lighter not darker.

Wow! Definitely going to be suspicious of hairdressers trying to curl my hair now!

Woah that’s deep! Never considered it like that!
