@moriadne

If you like true crime, really recommend Unnatural Causes by Dr Richard Shephard. He was a prominent forensic pathologist and worked on some high profile cases, it's a fascinating listen.
Came on to recommend this when you mentioned true crime .Riveting, one of the best books I’ve ever read or listened to.

Agree about the Rivers of London series.
I also love Jodi Taylor Chronicle of St Mary's series. Sci fi history and adventure and funny

I've just got an Audible trial and I'm listening to Bob Mortimer's autobiography, And Away. It's read by him and absolutely fantastic - in half an hour's listening this morning it made me laugh out loud, cry and feel quite sick!

I also love both of these and would also recommend Jodi Taylor's Elizabeth Cage series. I just listened to The Stranger Times by C K McDonnell and thoroughly enjoyed it. Petter James's Roy Grace series is very good too.

I mainly listen to speculative fiction set in the very close future sort of Handmaid's tale style. I do like other genres and more spacey scifi but this is my fave genre.

Recently I've loved station 11, the end of men, this fragile earth and the heart goes last.

Outside of this genre I have really enjoyed Rotherwierd, which is the first in a series of three books. I'm looking forward to the others.

I also really enjoyed the wolf Hall trilogy.

Neonplant · 06/10/2021 22:22

Ooh also the power. I read this but I'd def recommend.

I've just finished Manhunt by Colin Sutton which is included in audible membership so won't cost you a credit. Would recommend if you like true crime, it isn't gratuitous it's about how they brought that fucker (Levi Bellfield) to justice.

thecapitalsunited · 06/10/2021 22:29

I’ve been enjoying BBC Radio 4 Poirot dramatisations on my dog walks.

Rizzoli123 · 06/10/2021 23:10

What about the appeal?

I also love to Richard osman and Mark burnell. Burnell has just had a flim madr about his first book called the rhythm section. It's my all time favourite
