Where for afternoon tea in London?

Or Brighton? Hit me with your recommendations! For DD's 18th.

I was looking at the Shard but the afternoon teas have very mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. Has anyone been to Oblix or Aqua Shard and can recommend them or not?

Thanks!

I've been to what feels like all of them Grin. DH is American, so when he did business trips to London I used to tag along and we always got taken to the fancy teas by companies trying to impress their American client. It worked btw. DH loves an afternoon tea.

My favorites by miles are the Rose Tea at the Sofitel St. James and the one at Claridges. Special mention to Sketch for the all round experience and the Ham Yard Hotel which I couldn't go to, but DH raves about.

Side note: do not get hammered on champagne at Sketch. Those loos are very confusing for the non-sober.

If you go for Fortnum and Mason it's cheaper to book a Virgin experience voucher and book using that.

There's somewhere that does an Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea. I can't remember where though.

I’ve recently been to F&M and had a lovely time.

I thought the Sky Garden was a bit shit.
