Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone else is considering putting their heating on yet? I’m so cold tonight - pjs, extra blanket and usual bedding already on x

Not yet - and I usually put it on if I feel cold but haven't really felt cold enough yet. It's a bit chillier first thing and late on but I've been fine in the day. Did think about switching from the summer duvet (4.5,) to our winter one though (10.5) but haven't done it yet.

Ours has come on first thing in last few days.

mum2jakie · 29/09/2021 08:01

Put it on for an hour yesterday as I had some bedding to dry and it would be hanging around for weeks, given the wet weather we're having. It's more wet and windy than actually cold here but there is a definite change in the feel of the weather!

Mine is on timer and thermostat so if it gets cold enough it will come on. It is never switched off as such, we just move the thermostat up and down depending on how cold it is outside

gogohm · 29/09/2021 08:03

No because the nice people either side seem to heat our house for usGrin

@MrsPsmalls

Am I doing this wrong? I never 'put the heating on' I have a timed thermostat. If it gets cold enough it turns on all by itself. Today it came on for the first time I think since about April.
That's the way mine works too. I dont switch it on or off as its controlled by the thermostat and timer
idontlikealdi · 29/09/2021 08:07

I put it I. When it's cold not according to the date in the calendar, it's been on for the last couple of nights

RampantIvy · 29/09/2021 08:20

Ours came on this morning as the temperature outside dropped down to low single figures last night.

RampantIvy · 29/09/2021 08:20

We never have it on at night though - no need for it.

Marmite27 · 29/09/2021 08:24

Ours is set to come on if it falls below 18. Between 14:45 and 22:00. It clicked on at 21:53, I’m not sure I’d have bothered for 7 minutes, but machines don’t think like that Grin

We need to move the thermostat upstairs for a few days. We had some plastering done in the living room and hall and can’t rehang the radiators until it’s fully dry, so it will feel colder down there when the heating is on.

Marmite27 · 29/09/2021 08:25

Oh and I switched the kids to long leg/long sleeve pjs last night, but we still have the summer duvets on.

ApolloandDaphne · 29/09/2021 08:35

It was 6 degrees outside this morning and our house was cold so I put on the heating. I haven't put it on timer yet as it isn't consistently cold every morning.
