Scentsy wax melts- any alternatives?

I really love some of the scentsy Christmas and autumn scents, but I don’t want to support a MLM. Although I guess buying from someone already stuck will help them.
Anyone found an independent buyer that is similar to the scentsy ones?
Or if not, what are people’s favourite/new scentsy ones?

Man, I hate MLMs and can’t believe I am thinking about buying from them, I was gifted this one. But then buying from someone who’s been conned into it doesn’t seem as evil?

@SquareYellow yes same here. Mine are older now but I have cats who like to jump on tables and investigate things!!

Ugh, can't be doing with glitter. It just goes everywhere!!

My friend makes candles and wax melts from home, natural wax and essential oils, Three Seed Candles.

Star shaped wax melts in a tin, Snow Angels smells of gorgeous Christmas spices And Sleigh Rides smells of a Christmas trees 🎄 £9.

I’m also awkward in that I need wax based ones not soy.

Do you have a local owned shop that sells scented candles?

My friend created this business with her husband when her wedding stationary business stopped due to Covid, I’m so proud of her and they smell incredible!

My daughter has her own business, although i’m biased 😂 i can highly recommend and she has excellent review. www.waxpods.co.uk. She can also be found on facebook and instagram. Feel free to have a browse, i promise you won’t be disapointed. 😀

SquareYellow · 04/10/2021 13:55

@REDHERO have a lovely independent shop that we get candles from but they don’t do wax melts.

Thanks for the other suggestions, I’ll take a look!

A woman i know makes them, in her own home while her kids are at school. They are really gorgeous, and great for asthmatics as they are all natural. They smell divine!

I’ve tried a couple of brands of wax melts but none have really been as good as my scentsy ones so I’m interested to see what others are recommended.

SquareYellow · 04/10/2021 14:14

@GingerFoxInAT0phat it’s really annoying that I actually like them isn’t it! What are your favourite scents with them? I thought I had found my replacement but they’ve gone.

@SquareYellow My favourites are Hug in a Mug and Cosy Cardigan, it’s around this time of year that I want to be all cosy.

My Saffie Bea melts have just arrived. They smell beautiful!

Old thread, but anyone got any scentsy Christmas suggestions? Been given one and know they heat cooler (is that a thing?) so you need to use them specifically. There seems millions of scents to choose from.

"Old thread, but anyone got any scentsy Christmas suggestions?"

Yeah, avoid like the plague

Gingernaut · 22/11/2022 11:52

Both Glade and AirWick do seasonal wax melts and candles.

Most supermarkets sell Yankee Candle or their own knock offs

There's plenty of choice out there.

Unfortunately the Yankee candles need a hotter wax burner so I can’t use this one, I unfortunately need the scentsy ones or ones that melt on a lower temp than the Yankee ones.

I would like to, but a stupid sentimental reason for wanting to keep using this burner and not get a generic replacement.

I know the last who owns this small business in Cornwall - her products smell amazing and they make them all by hand there:

I get lots of lovely soy wax melts off Etsy

BobbyBobbyBobby · 22/11/2022 12:00

This is what I do. I save up used wax melts that have used up all their fragrance then I reuse them by adding a few drops of my own oil just as they begin to soften and melt.

example of oil here

Devon wick are amazing!! I've tried so many over the years. I won't use anything else now. So reasonable too.

DarkKarmaIlama · 22/11/2022 14:00

Oh yes I agree. So many “huns” on my Facebook selling this shite. Complete with inspirational bullshit statuses. So cringe.

Sugarplumfairy65 · 22/11/2022 15:48

Try Over The Moon Scents. It's a small family business based near Hull. The owner makes over 300 fragrances in wax melts herself and she has a shop in Hessle as well as a website. She also does candles and diffusers. Its a lovely little company and NOT a mlm. And, their wax melts in a scentsy burner.

Sugarplumfairy65 · 22/11/2022 15:50

BirdyBee · 04/10/2021 11:04

Sassy wax melts are really lovely and last for ages they do a huge range of scents

I used to like sassy shop wax until they went all corporate and turned into a mlm.

monsteronahill · 22/11/2022 15:59

Bear Burners!!

They're bloody fab, handmade by a lovely lady in the UK - she does incredible candles and her wax melts are genuinely show stopping. I can get a good three or four full burns (with an 8 hour candle) out of two cubes of her wax melts. She does seasonal ones and classic dupes of popular fragrances and I think her prices are really good too.
