I can see my nose

I don't remember seeing my nose until this week. Well unless looking in the mirror.

Now I see it when I'm looking out of my eyes, it is in the way, I see my nose and then my phone. My nose and then my dinner.

Is this normal? Has it always been there but I've somehow missed it? Or have I been telling too many lies?

Dammit op, now I can’t unsee my nose!

Fateofthecookies · 17/09/2021 21:50

Now I’m going to have to mention it to the rest of the family so I don’t suffer this curse alone Grin

Yesitsbess · 17/09/2021 21:50

Another one here with a sudden nose.

Curse you OP...

Libraryghost · 17/09/2021 21:52

Damn and blast you to hell op. I am STILL looking at my nose.

ItWearsTheBatteriesOut · 17/09/2021 22:14

@TheQueef

Shut each eye one at a time and get a good look to help reset. Then try and not acknowledge it. Like when you think you've stopped auto breathing.
I can still see my nose and now I'm thinking about breathing!

Sorry others I didn't wish for you to become afflicted, I didn't know it was like corona in a packed room,

Maybe we need a big nose to keep necessary things in when we get old.
Like a clean hankie!!

SilenceOfThePrams · 17/09/2021 22:17

Best thing to do is to distract yourself from it do you forget it again (agree with eye test though - I’m short sighted and when my nose is in focus it’s time for new glasses)

To distract yourself from seeing your noses, may I suggest you think instead about blinking, about how many times you need to blink for optimum eye comfort?

And the concentrate on how much room in your mouth is taken up by your tongue, and how it manages to lie there without catching on your teeth?

And finally, think about which nostril you are currently breathing through and see if you can swap to the other.

Downside is you’re now probably even more aware of your eyelids, blink rate, tongue, teeth, and airflow through your nostrils, but I bet you’ve forgotten about the other thing…

Yes the nose cartilage and the ear lobes keep on growing. We all have big pendulous ear lobes to look forward to.

VirgilStarkwell · 17/09/2021 22:36

Is this you, OP? (Kenny Everett being Barry Manilow.)

Silence you are an ass Grin

Thanks to you both mentioning eye test, I don't wear glasses but come from a glasses family so maybe.... all I know is if I don't sort the problem soon I will have to resort to a knife and a nose a la Voldermort

Every time I see this thread title I can see mine too Grin

LukeEvansWife · 17/09/2021 22:45

I’m short sighted too and I think my glasses are wrong so I wonder if that is it

Wotwhywhen · 17/09/2021 22:46

When I first got.my.glassess, I could see the reflection of my eyes in them. It was so distracting. Now I can't.

If I look for my nose, I can see my nose..

mumwon · 17/09/2021 22:49

one advantage of varifocals ...

Cissyandflora · 17/09/2021 23:24

@LynetteScavo

Nicole Kidman's ear libra are quite big now - so I do belobe relives keep on growing, even if you Botox everything else.
Are you under water?
WingingItSince1973 · 17/09/2021 23:49

@LynetteScavo

We did this experiment with a spoon at school, and I could feel the hairs on my nose.

I'm not sure what the point of the experiment was, but it definitely wasn't to discover your nose was covered in hairs.

I'm still mortified.

I did quite an extensive write up for homework Blush

What's the nose hair experiment? Yep can't stop seeing my nose now too 😭

And the concentrate on how much room in your mouth is taken up by your tongue, and how it manages to lie there without catching on your teeth?

I was really surprised when I saw a picture of a cross-section of a head (a uni room-mate was a dental student) and the mouth was completely full of tongue.
