Dont buy a house next to a car enthusiast.

Every single day there is revving, spraying, random swears. Its constant. Its impossible to have a relaxing sit in the garden.

His friends come round and they all stand round the banger that is being tinkered with, blocking my drive with their own cars.

Phil and Kirstie dont tell you this so I thought I'd better. You are welcome.

I have constant (electric) sawing for days, then the neighbour puts up yet another crap construction.....
I'm now expecting another batch as the fence he built two years ago (now apparent it's softwood) is rotting away and wobbly. Hmm

@LindaLooky
Without outing him (off to name change now) he is on here!
He was on here way before me but has just posted his first post!
(Waves to Brother again and apologises for the questions towards him that may follow)

@YlangYlangYlangYlang
I think you must live in my road

waylander · 17/09/2021 17:53

Meh - no need to make a fresh account. Already commented Smile

SinoohXaenaHide · 17/09/2021 17:55

We live over the road from one of these. Dh thinks thare running an unofficial car maintenance, repair and respray service from their front drive but I reckon they are just doing it for fun.

PenguinIce · 17/09/2021 18:10

I feel your pain! My ndn ‘fixes’ cars and it is constant noise and disruption. I say ‘fix’ loosely as it is the same cars coming back time after time so he is obviously not very good!

PissedOffAgain · 17/09/2021 18:19

@waylander
Waves!

Oh agreed! Angle-grinding, constant angle-grinding. And ours is now in his 80s but we've had nearly 20 years of it.

Yes we definitely all live on the same street.

Meet at mine on Tuesday at 19:30 for a meeting to plan out attack. I'll provide refreshments.

YlangYlangYlangYlang · 18/09/2021 00:02

@wolfstarling I'll bring a loudhailer so we can hear each other over the angle-grinding.

BashfulClam · 18/09/2021 01:59

The young guy next door to us loves revving his engine. His friends come round and they rev their engines and practically come in their pants. Then they tinker with the engine and rev some mire. He can’t ever start up or park without revving the guts out if his engine , even if it’s 3am ffs! I really think he gets off on it.

Where I live, and close by (less than 100 yds) eight houses have been extensively renovated/demolished and re-built in the ten years I lived here. It was the angle-grinding that made me cry last week, trying to work from home. Three solid days of it.
