Yes, you would know it was off by its smell. Hard cheeses usually last longer but mozzarella gets stinky quickly.

I dunno @QuestionableMouse, some people are all “I left a sandwich on the side while I went to the toilet. When I got back, next doors dog was sitting in my garden looking at it through our back door. Will this still be okay to eat or shall I make a new one?”
In the case of the op though I do agree, I’d swerve this one and I’m very laid back re dates!
