Son not growing - when to worry?

DS is 13 and is tiny. He's 140cm / 4ft 5. He is noticeably smaller than all his classmates. I'm 5ft 5 and DH is 5ft 8 so we know he's not going to be massively tall but he doesn't seem to be growing.

He keeps expecting a growth spurt and I think there is some teasing but he brushes it off. He's not started puberty - no hair, voice unbroken.

Should I bother the GP or just leave it.

do you know the family history of male teenage grows? how did your dad and dc dad grow as teens?

fwiw I have a 13 and a 14 yo and in their classes at school there are a few boys who are still small and pre-puberty.

if you had said that dc is always pale and tired it could point to issues (like coeliacs disease)

Just an update: spoke to the GP and he said as he appeared to be dropping centiles it was worth looking at. Saw consultant (privately) today and he has done a wrist x-ray which will show if there is "growing potential". Once they get that if there is an issue ie no growing potential they will look at some blood tests.

Glad to see the GP was helpful.
