DH not home from work

I know there’s always lots of these threads and the default is that he’s having an affair, this isn’t that.
He was due to finish at 11pm. It’s not 2:30am, but unusual in his work, but my mind is racing. Find my phone hasn’t been pinging, texts are now going as text message not iMessage.
Today was the first day at a new place, same job. He last read a text of mine at 8pm. If something had happened at work then I would be notified. I don’t want to think he’s had an accident driving home. He’s been late before but usually texts me it I can ping his phone and see where he is. I’m rambling. I’m sure it’s fine and I should sleep, but then I’m thinking I should be panicking more.
I haven’t phoned his phone, other than text as I don’t want to distract him if he’s still at work, as he would message me if it was appropriate, so if at work then he’s unable to get in touch for a reason. Just wondering if I did phone and it didn’t answer, how long I would wait until trying to contact his work place to see.

OP I just read this thread and am glad you already have peace of mind. I used to work with the police a lot and it gave me so much respect for what they and the other emergency services do to protect us as the public. Less thought is given to the impact on partners and spouses but it can't be easy. Hope you can now get some rest!

Yeah I’m wondering if I will manage to go back to sleep. Was woken by a child and between the heat and some overthinking about work I’m on MN in the middle of the night.

It was pretty awful at the time - I slept through the alarm, but realised that’s what it was when DH was going downstairs. We couldn’t see much obvious but then I checked the cameras and could see they had spent maybe 30 minutes around the house and garage before attempting to get it. But I couldn’t see them leaving on the camera. We called the police who were really stretched but as soon as they realised we thought they were still here they pulled up within minutes and stormed the house and garden. Didn’t sleep much that night either 🤣

Hope you get some more sleep before the heat kicks back in again at sunrise, and hope you can forget about work until work time.

That sound absolutely horrid with them scouting your home first. I have cameras now since he started on night shifts.

You need to read a heartwarming thread like the most PFB moment one.
