Wedding song to walk out to

Wise Mnetters please can you help me pick a song for after we get married and walk back up the "aisle" please?

I'm walking in to Marry you by Bruno Mars and we are getting married in a courtyard - it's a very relaxed affair and we want a nice happy tune to walk out to.

I had picked jack johnson better together but felt it's a bit wishy washy. Would like something cool that has a good beat and nice words but isn't soppy or too hardcore!

Help!! Will send wedding cake in return 🍰 or whisky miniature, your choice!!

One Republic - Feel Again. We had it as our exit song. Certainly not wishy washy, have a google of the lyrics.

Our music wasn't at all what you'd expect at a wedding, we had One Republic - Something I Need as our first dance and Vance Joy - Riptide as a ceremony song

We had Good Times by Eddie Brickell.

Also I think Nina Simone Feeling good would be amazing if you could time is so the ‘and I’m feeling good’ kicked in as you start to walk

DementedPanda · 02/09/2021 15:44

We had nothings going to stop us now

Confusedandshaken · 02/09/2021 15:47

@ChequerBoard

Also 'One Day Like This' by Elbow
I came on to say this. Such a beautiful song but maybe not upbeat enough for OP

Your wedding sounds lovely @bettertimesarecomingnow. I hope it's a beautiful day. X

bobandhisburgers · 02/09/2021 16:02

We walked out to 'You're the best thing' by Ray LaMontagne. Very upbeat and catchy.

FinallyFluid · 02/09/2021 16:11

My uncle married after 25 years with his partner, he asked her to choose the coming in song, she chose, give me just a little more time.... Grin

Triceratopsmama · 02/09/2021 16:15

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 02/09/2021 16:18

Oh... and multiple Gary Barlow / Take That songs ... if that's your thing!!

IamChipmunk · 02/09/2021 16:51

We also had Mr Brightside as its one of mine and DHs joint favourite songs and links to a lot of good memories of our early days as students, festivals and live music.

anguauberwaldironfoundersson · 02/09/2021 16:59

We got married on a Friday and walked out to "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure

Evenstar · 02/09/2021 17:06

We had True Love’s First Kiss from Shrek

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 02/09/2021 17:10

Just like starting over - John Lennon (and I'm really not a Lennon fan)

YY to 'You're best friend'. But also 'Don't stop me now' if you want something that's kind of emotional at the start, but becomes pretty upbeat.

The Divine Comedy have some utterly sublime love songs, never naff, always slightly wry. Funny Peculiar would be one I'd consider because it's not too obvious.

Polly271220 · 02/09/2021 17:12

We had Florence and the machine you've got the love

noodlezoodle · 02/09/2021 17:46

Oh! How about 'As' by Stevie Wonder? The George Michael/Mary J Blige cover of it is gorgeous and might work well for you.

DownWhichOfLate · 02/09/2021 17:52

Ooh @noodlezoodle - that is a FANTASTIC song!

sunshineandshowers21 · 02/09/2021 18:00

our song has always been the smiths - there is a light that never goes out (we met as angsty teenagers!) so we’re walking in to that. and walking out to kiss me by sixpence none the richer.

noodlezoodle · 02/09/2021 18:05

@DownWhichOfLate
