Wagamamas virgin! What will I like?

I've never been before.. Help!

I don't like uncooked fish or spicy food :)

@user1471530109 they have screens to divide up the benches since COVID.

And you can pay on an app. But even before that I don't ever remember them taking my card away. It must have just been the branch you used.

Teriyaki chicken donburi is my favourite. Love Wagamama!

It's not a Japanese restaurant, they do all kinds of things.

Love the chilli squid . Look at the menu and see what appeals its very well laid out with spice levels .. I often try new stuff. I like this style of food and if we are dishing chains then this is one of the better food wise .

Thank you everyone. I feel a lot less nervous now. I think I might have a ramen or the katsu curry. Eek!

My go to starter is the fried duck gyozas which are like little dumplings, not spicy at all but really tasty!

For main I usually get a ramen, which is noodles in broth. The chicken one is a good choice if you’ve never had it before but the pork belly one is my current favourite and comes with a soft boiled egg (it says tea stained egg on the menu but it doesn’t taste any different to me).

I don't think any of it is particularly spicy.
The ramen bowls are great but can be a faff/messy to eat.
So for first time stick to a noodle or rice dish.
I love the yasi yaki soba or ginger chicken udon.

except for when I use my fitness pal! - it has 1149 calories !

just don't eat all day !

I LOVE duck donburi! It’s crispy duck but with rice And veg and veg abd a fried egg on top! You mix it all together and crack on! Delicious!

Absolutely LOVE it.

Yaki soba with chicken and prawn isn’t spicy. That’s my fave. With edamame beans to start with.. !

I am not sure what they are called but I love the octopus balls with a sort of spicy mayo. Even my DS1 who has ASD and a VERY simple palate loves them.

Hardly ever go to Wagamama. Love it when we do.

It is my favourite meal out, we all love it in our family.

Kids & adult dd like the chicken katsu curry or the yasai katsu curry (vegetarian)

I love the donburi bowls, pad Thai, yaki soba (don't like udon big thick noodles)
Firecracker chicken is lovely but VERY HOT

On the side we all love:
Edemame beans in chilli salt
Chilli squid
Ebi katsu
Bang bang cauliflower

Gyoza and pad Thai for me. I ask for chicken and tofu rather than prawns. Yum.

Not spicy, my kids eat both happily.

Also love a Yaki Udon - thick noodles, chicken, prawns, loads of veggies, not too saucy and just a hint of spice. Yum. Love their ribs too and the gyoza

I love Wagamamas! Not been for a while but this thread has made me want to go, pronto!

I really enjoy the Chicken Gyozas for starters, or the mushroom hirata sticky buns.

For mains, I love the chicken raisukaree, its a lovely creamy, lemony coconut thai curry type dish.
I really recommend the teriyaki chicken donburi too, the sticky rice and the tender chicken with the fried egg...delicious!
The yaki soba is very good too.
I don't recall any of the above dishes being very spicy.

We go a lot because my young DC love it. I'd go Katsu or ramen with gyozos. The chilli squid is very good but not sure how you'd find the spice - to me it isn't very spicy.

If you want a dessert the banana katsu is delicious.

@Muma1992 because DH likes it and persuaded me the previous episode was a one off. We rarely go now though as he accepts it disagrees with me. I love genguine Asian food and even chains like PHO but just not Wagamama's
