When will payday be?

Sorry this is a quick post as just can’t seem to find an answer online but wanted a consensus.

I usually get paid the last day of the month, and that’s the day after bank holiday this month. A friend has had an awful break up (devastated) and asked if I’d go up to hers for the weekend.

The thing is, I’ve got pre payday blues (been a heavy month as had lots of outgoings) and I’d like to go. Friend thinks I’ll get paid on the Friday, as Monday is a no banking day so won’t be in for Tuesday. Other friend says it’ll be Tuesday

So I guess my question is, Friday or Tuesday?

I get paid the last working day of the month.. so I'll get paid next Tuesday!

The only time it's ever early is at Christmas when I quite often get paid the 28th/29th.

It does depend on how the pay is run and how your bank processes it. I know Tuesday isn't the bank holiday but Monday is so the question to ask yourself is if the last day falls on a Monday does it show in your account on the Monday or on the Saturday? If its Saturday it will be this time if its Monday then your pay will show on Tuesday this time.

The money being 'deposited the day before' is very unusual and probably incorrect.

You'll either be paid by BACS in which case it's probably already set up and will leave your employers bank account 2 working days before you get paid and follows a set process around the banks automatically, but only moving on banking days, not weekends or bank holidays or if you work for a small company, faster payments when someone sits with a list of payments and sends each one manually and they hit your account immediately.
