What are you crocheting?

Am posting here for more traffic

I am currently doing a decent size throw for the living room, it's taking me forever but am going to start doing a few rows a day to speed it up a bit. I am fairly new to crocheting I can do basic stitchs but haven't ventured further than blankets yet. I want to try some hats soon for Xmas presents in some good quality 100%ish wool.

@OoglyMoogly granny squares are the BEST way to learn and bit by bit they create a branket too.

My grandma taught me to crochet age 8 I still love it in my 50s

lucysmam · 21/08/2021 11:37

@Enko I've looked at Sophie before, when I just started crocheting. I'll go back for another look before I decide. Thank you :)

Workyticket · 21/08/2021 11:41

I thought I'd crochet loads in the various lockdowns but having more time on my hands seems to have made me less keen to crochet

I've been making a baby blanket for months - literally just a border to pop on but I can't be arsed!

Have loads on the go, several blankets, a jumper, another blanket that needs the ends sewing in……currently trying to finish sacred space by Helen Shrimpton for my nephew who is off to university. It’s all one colour, Aran yarn and it’s taking forever.

Ds1’s is done but the ends need sewing in. His is a Rozetta.

OoglyMoogly · 21/08/2021 11:44

@Galassia

It's also helping my hands which were starting to get pins and needles and cramps, (was waking up and having to massage my hands before I could pick up anything - joys of ageing!) so crocheting has alleviated that.

Yarn is my new obsession Blush

Georgieporgie29 · 21/08/2021 11:57

I’m currently doing an attic 24 blanket using left over yarn so not the colours that they have picked

Like you I’m new to crochet and this is my second blanket from her site. I have found them both really easy to follow.

Chikapu · 21/08/2021 12:24

Nothing at the moment, having a mojo slump but I recently finished Attic 24s Aria blanket. I've been a crocheter for years but this was the first granny square project I've ever finished, I'm amazed I had the patience.

Enko · 21/08/2021 13:19

@lucysmam Sophie was my first English language project i loved the support videos from "it's all in a nutshell" to help when I struggled. It is 100% beginner friendly. I love Deirdri Uris design.

Rubyupbeat · 21/08/2021 14:26

I can't understand crochet patterns, I can do granny squares but that's it.
I can knit any pattern though.

Spottyphonecase · 21/08/2021 14:34

I have quite a few things in the go. A baby blanket - simple granny stripe. Should be able to finish it today. Another granny stripe for myself using LayFamily Yarn rainbow chronicles, the battenberg blanket using hand dyed 4 ply minis, the Nordic shawl, a hat and a few pumpkins. I like the variety to pick and choose what I work on.

WingingItSince1973 · 21/08/2021 14:35

I'm trying to finish projects here 🤣 But am working my way through a frog for younger dd as she's frog obsessed. 🐸

ForCluckSake · 21/08/2021 14:48

I would love to be able to follow a pattern.

I’m on the border for this blanket.

What are you crocheting?
Anubias · 21/08/2021 14:58

@ForCluckSake I learnt patterns by watching YouTube videos where the written pattern pops up on the screen then they do the stitches.

CrochetBug · 21/08/2021 14:58

I have approximately 626747838920776367383 WIPs Grin

I'm currently working on this one though, it's a cardigan. I've finished the back panel and am 9 rows into the first front panel.

I also need to make about 7 more of these squares and then sew them together to be a baby blanket that my friend ordered. Baby has been born so I'm a bit behind Blush

I crochet but at a very basic level. I've only ever made blankets. I've got two on the go a different shades of purple one that follows a sequence and one that is huge and called Frankenstein cause I'm just using up all my odd wool Smile haven't actually done any in a long time, seem to have lost my mojo for crafts

AugustRose · 21/08/2021 15:04

@Newuname199987 Ooh I like that.

I'm currently working on this CAL from Eleanora Tully, it will take me a while though as I don't crochet fast or often enough Grin. www.kingcole.com/tropical-shores-crochet-along-blanket/

I'm also making some mini halloween amigurumi bits for my daughter, eg. pumpkins, witches hat, ghosts

AugustRose · 21/08/2021 15:06

@CrochetBug that square is beautiful!

BonnyandPoppy · 21/08/2021 15:10

I’ve done a few of Eleanora Tully’s patterns and they are fairly easy and her videos are amazingly easy to follow and you learn so much from them. I did the stash buster first then the picnic by the beach and then the picnic by the river

BonnyandPoppy · 21/08/2021 15:31

Here are some of them. At the moment I am crotcheting a handbag

Thanks. Its the Kinnedy Nichelle square, I can't remember the designer but it's on Ravelry. She has a few and they are all gorgeous. It's so fiddly, but luckily it's almost 12" square so I won't need too many to make a baby blanket Grin
