What would you spend £200 on ?

So I have £200 to spend on treats for me.

I don't need to put it towards any large items. I recently bought a (pink) kitchenaid stand mixer which has been on my wishlist since forever, so that's crossed off my wishlist. I have other household things on my wishlist but I don't want to put this money towards anything house related.
I've recently bought all the autumn candles from homesense. I'm also trying to lose a few pounds so nothing food related really.
I had my birthday recently so have new perfume too. I also have plenty of clothes for now, but will probably need more autumnal pieces. A denim jacket would be nice now that I think about it! (Answering my own thread now Grin)

Give me some ideas. What would you spend £200 on, just for little treats for you?
Be as frivolous as you want Grin

The best set of watercolour pencils I could find. I have a cheap set and I am just discovering how useful they are to combine with watercolour paints.

Sunglasses is a good idea! I have a pair from an expensive store (Tom Davies) and they're so comfortable. I found an old pair of cheapie boots ones recently and tried them on and the fit and feel is just nowhere near as good. They last as well, I've had them 6 years now and still as good as new. But sunglasses are something I wear a lot so makes sense for me to splurge.

I'd think about something that you'll use a lot but currently have a cheap version of so something like bed sheets which everyone uses or something more specific to you like something for a hobby, jewellery, scarf, bag, hat. Whatever you're interested in and will use a lot. Or maybe some luxurious pyjamas/dressing gown.

If l could add cash to it, I’d go for a weekend away.

If it was strictly £200 and that’s my lot, l’d go for a new dress, new bra and matching knix.

AwkwardSquad · 21/08/2021 05:58

A nice dilemma to have! The planning is almost as enjoyable as the spending. There is a specific necklace I want so I’d probably get that rather than waiting for my birthday. I need new trainers so the rest of the money could go towards those. My other choice would be a new pair of boots - haven’t got my eye on a particular pair yet but it’s the right time of year to start looking.

AwkwardSquad · 21/08/2021 06:01

Found the boots I want! That didn’t take long. Unfortunately they’re £275, so I’ll need to wait for my £200 to show up Grin

StarlightLady · 21/08/2021 06:03

OP, are you going to give each of us who replied £200? 😂

MoltenLasagne · 21/08/2021 06:06

A good quality trench coat or possibly a cashmere jumper. Maybe both with the sales still being on...

Im boring, id go to M&S and buy nice food. Im an Aldi girl (love the food and prices) but M&S would be a nice treat.

OverByYer · 21/08/2021 09:33

My MIL kindly gifted me £500 earlier this year to ‘spend on myself’. I found it a bit daunting. So far have bought AirPods and will probably spend the rest on a good winter coat.

OverByYer · 21/08/2021 09:33

Oh I also bought a bracelet in the Monica Vinader sale

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2021 09:46

Buy a cheap denim jacket, as there's little to no difference between cheap and expensive ones.

Necklace to wear everyday
Diamond earrings from Monica Vinader
Boots
New coat
New bedding / lovely towels
Nice new rug and cushions to brighten up a room
New cutlery or dinner set
Kitchen knives
Blow it all in Waterstones

My £200 day ... I would go to a lovely cafe and treat myself to coffee and cake, then I would go and buy some nice pj's some nice snacks and fancy bubblebath (no radox £1 special!) Cashmere socks and a bottle of champagne just completely waste it.
In reality I wouldn't be able to find anything I want and it'll end up sitting in my bank.

LostPencilSOS · 21/08/2021 11:34

@StarlightLady hahaha I wish I could 😂😂

Oooh yes I can totally relate to having all the fancy plans but then it eventually sitting in my bank and becoming part of my savings !

I think the list so far is :

  1. denim jacket
  2. a couple of sessions of personal trainer (I actually filled a form in last night online and just had a call back from a trainer! Nervous but exciting ! @PermanentTemporary)

And I think that will probably see to the whole amount - £200 doesn't get you much anymore does it starting to feel very old now Grin

These beauties 😍 www.toa.st/products/fracap-hiker-boots-black

They’d go perfectly with my winter wardrobe, once I lose enough lockdown weight to get back into it…

LostPencilSOS · 21/08/2021 12:19

Oh @AwkwardSquad they are a thing of beauty ! Sigh.

Also I really want a bangle!... something hard wearing so that my toddlers can't swing off it and snap it, I can't wear any jewellery at the moment it just gets broken 😅

Ohh a lovely new coat and some jumpers & cardigans ready for the freezing cold nursery runs 😂
