What food is like crack to you?

I recently discovered Halo ice cream and was delighted by how delicious it is whilst still being pretty low calorie. The problem is that it’s so delicious I can’t eat a normal portion size. I thought I’d give moderation another go tonight but nope, I’ve just eaten nearly a whole tub of Gooey Chocolate Brownie. Totally defeats the object. The peanut butter one is the worst (best).

@cantgetmyheadroundit

I don't actually know why I've put this on watch, because I just keep coming back to torture myself and make myself starving.
Me too. I wish I’d never started it. I’ve made a rod for my own back AND everyone else’s.

A delicious rod though Grin

Also, whilst we do want to be inclusive, if your crack food is in the region of ‘rocket’, ‘radishes’ or ‘mango’ I’m not sure you’re really ready for this thread...

All Bran. I could easily eat a whole box in one sitting. Love it.
That is the most bonkers “crack” food I’ve ever heard of!

I know it's a bit bizarre. I don't have a very sweet tooth and the mild sweetness in All Bran somehow hits the spot. I have a bowl with milk and then can't stop going back to eat dry handfuls from the box. Not great when I am trying to lose 7lb, as although a moderate amount is a good way to get fibre, it's actually quite calorie-dense Sad.

You’re making me feel much better about my addiction to Quavers, and their floaty lightness!

Donner kebab with salad and mayo. It has to be really fresh and nicely cooked though.

Rockbird · 21/08/2021 12:48

Crisps, crusty bread with Lurpak and, most recently, Haagen Dazs Mango and Raspberry ice cream.

I put the remnants of a box of All Bran on the bird table (dated Feb 19-found it at the back of the pantry Blush) yesterday and the birds will not touch it. Grin

Gin and tonic icecream GinGinGin
Sorry I made it up as I went , taste as you go , I've made it many times and it's always great
I made a custard ( egg yolks , cream , sugar , ) I use a recipie from Willie harcourt - cooze , but it's pretty standard , cooled it
Then used the custard as a base in the ice cream machine , as it churned I added lime juice, tonic and a generous glug of gin,
If you are using a 4 egg custard the liquid ( gin tonic & lime juice ) added was about 200 ml total
Then after it's churned I put it into the freezer to harden

  • too much spirit and it won't set , you only need enough to taste Let me know how you get on GinGinGin
