Bed bugs??!

I need help 😫

For about a week I’ve been waking up with little itchy bites. They’re usually small and white or red, almost like little pimples, but by the time I’ve scratched them they get angrier. Almost all on my back or stomach - areas which are mostly covered when I sleep although I guess my top might ride up.

Could this be bed bugs?

I’ve searched the mattress (which is quite new) for signs of them and can’t see anything.

They only happen overnight and the itching goes down pretty quick of a morning.

Really reluctant to call pest control if the bites are the only sign and could be something else, but I’m getting desperate.

So update, I spoke to my doctor and he’s fairly sure it’s a viral infection! He’s not actually seen them so difficult to tell but based on everything I’ve told him he doesn’t think it’s bites. Phew!
@Iggly ironically I’ve started wearing more clothes at night to try and stop me from getting bitten, not that it’s worked 😂
Doh 😂

Oh no! Maybe you’re having night sweats from the fever then?

Take care of yourself if so x

Looks like flea bites. Treat the house with Indorex spray, you'll need 2 cans for am a average 3 bed house. Are the dogs treated with spot on? It's a bad year for fleas.

** meant to add, doesn't look like a typical viral rash to me. Hope it is and it goes soon.

Bedbug bites are often in straight lines of 3 or 5 bites on your body

SirenSays · 12/08/2021 15:47

You can buy silk sleeping bag liners. I have one for backpacking I use when staying in hostels. They're supposed to be so tightly woven that the little buggers can't get through. I assume it works as I've never ever been bitten.

charl881 · 12/08/2021 17:26

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor yeah they are treated regularly with spot on. Would fleas only bite one of us? So confusing, doesn’t help the doctor hasn’t physically seen them.

Yes fleas can only make one person react.

NoEffingWaytoSurvive · 15/08/2021 06:54

Ds looks like dot-to-dot if the cats have fleas (not happened for a while thank goodness), whereas I don't react to any insect bites.

Its not Frontline you use is it?

If so - fleas are your issue. And heat is what makes it worse at night.

The cream and tablets the gp has given me seems to have worked so far and I’ve not had any new bites so really hoping it was a rash! I’ve flea combed the dogs and couldn’t find any.
