Neighbours are having a party

My neighbours, well about 4 doors down at the end of my road are having a party.

Not a quiet little soirée you understand a big fecking party. They have a DJ with decks in the garden and an MC who really doesn't seem to need the microphone he keeps hollering into.

I am normally in bed by 10.30 but in my room it literally sounds like they are in my front garden, it is so loud and the bass is crazy.

If I was younger I'd probably wangle and invite and be over there in the thick of it but I'm 46, tired and I just want to go to bed.

What sort of time do we reckon this will finish, what is an acceptable time??

It's not even late 🙄

@Skiptheheartsandflowers hope yours stop soon.

@maddy68 you may not consider it late, I'm afraid I do.

It's usually at least 3am before they're done. I'm watching today's Olympics to tire myself out so I can go straight to sleep! Hope yours wind down soon. It is definitely 'late' and I say this as a lapsed night owl..

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 08/08/2021 00:53

@Sweettea1 no I have no plan to do anything other than try and keep the dogs quiet, although not sure why I'm bothering I imagine all the other neighbours are still up!

Are we neighbours? I have a similar sounding problem.

WaterIsBest · 08/08/2021 00:58

Whats funny? @skippy67

Mid terrace houses, with a outside DJ and MC with speakers…..

This is out of order!!!

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 08/08/2021 01:00

We may be, or maybe we just both have neighbours who like an excessive shindig!

I am in South London

We have all been through lockdowns so it's not about not letting people have fun but a residential area is not the place for it. Restrictions are gone so any venue can be hired if people want a party.

I have so much sympathy after twatty mcshithead next door but one thought 200 people for a silent disco in the garden was reasonable. Not so fucking silent

AdoptedBumpkin · 08/08/2021 01:03

It's funny, I used to be in South London. Grin

Now in a normally peaceful village in Derbyshire...

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 08/08/2021 01:07

I think it may have actually stopped, lots of people shouting and general noise but no music, I can live with that, I can sleep with that too!

OP posts:
AdoptedBumpkin · 08/08/2021 01:12

Excellent. Bit quieter here now as well 👍

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 08/08/2021 01:12

Far fewer people at my neighbour's now but they are the loud shrieky people..

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 08/08/2021 01:15

That's good @AdoptedBumpkin

@Skiptheheartsandflowers loud and shrieks normally equals drunk!

Hope you both get some sleep.

We are still in a pandemic! Their neighbors could be sick or working shifts or just want some peace. I cannot understand how people can be so selfish.

PlayItCool · 08/08/2021 08:54

As soon as I read this I thought I bet this is South London Grin
We used to have neighbours doing the whole outdoor decks, MC shouty thing until 4am regularly. You could hear it several streets away.

We moved!

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 08/08/2021 09:06

@PlayItCool thankfully it is not a regular thing we are very lucky that our little road is normally very quiet.

@perciphonepuma I'm actually in London (Wandsworth council) I was genuinely shocked at how fast they responded - I filed it online, and about 20 mins later was just saying to DH that I expected nothing to happen... As I was saying it got a call (Private Number) from an operator asking if the party was still going on, and if an Officer could hear it from the street, then 15 or so minutes later a second call from the Officer saying they were coming now and was it still loud...

I wonder if I somehow accidentally chose the exact right time to log it, as they were planning their evening shift or something.
