Packing in Mumsnet!

I joined a few months ago, initially as I needed some help with an issue with a friend, that I couldn't talk to people in real life about as it wasn't fair on her. I got some good responses, but in the main I was called names, told I was a 'dick', vile, and other unpleasant, childish name calling without any actual constructive comments about the issue I was asking about.

I've contributed a bit since then, but today I've been absolutely pilloried by posters with smart alec comments, attempts to psychoanalyse me, again calling me vile, telling me I need counselling and have deep seated issues and am not owning up to the fact I want a man (I don't need any of these things). Just baiting, calling names, accusing me of telling fibs. It's batshit crazy in many ways. These people don't actually know me, nor anyone else they reply to, from Adam, so I don't understand their angle.

I appreciate there are many genuine and kind posters on here, and some discussions have been great but I no longer want to be part of a community that has playground mentality mean girls, spiteful
baiters and smart alecs amongst the members. My friends in real life are not like this (or they wouldn't be my friends!)

So I am bailing on Mumsnet. Of course the majority of you aren't like that, but too many are for my liking.

Shame, but it has to be done.

Do you get butt hurt so readily in real life?

VladmirsPoutine · 31/07/2021 22:04

Where does the phrase 'butt hurt' come from? I've heard it before but it doesn't make sense.

TopBlogger · 31/07/2021 22:08

Oh I was wondering if you would leave, had worried me ALL DAY. couldn't relax at all, kids unfed, unwashed, dog not walked.... But now I know, I will get on with my life.

Thank you thank you thank you for announcing you are going
Hmm

BTW, if I've posted a controversial view on a thread I just unfollow it so I don't read any responses and get annoyed/upset. Why didn't you do the same?

Ock @Sandra15! Don’t be like that now! I need to know what your RL friends think about you repeating the same story about the same man that you’ve never actually met for the eleventy billionth time a whole year after “the encounter” despite you absolutely not being hung up on him? Did they think that was odd at all? I’m invested now you see Wink

OhGiveUp · 01/08/2021 00:26

You don't have to announce your departure. It's not an airport.

TheBestCandidateByFar · 01/08/2021 00:37

I love a good flounce.
