Coverless Duvets

Lazy me likes the idea but I'm only able to buy online so can't see in the flesh.

I like white bedding but wonder if it would just look like a normal duvet without a cover?

Also, would a 8kg drum washing machine be big enough for a king size one?

We have no problems getting our king size in a standard 7kg machine. They scrunch up very small.

We switched to them a few years ago when we bought some from La Redoute and also have some from M&S. They all wash and dry really well and all look like new as they are very well made.

They are great if you have pets and or allergies.

We love them
ASD DC can cope with them. They hate duvets that come out of the corners. They fit easily into my machine and dry quickly on the line. I rarely use my tumble dryer for eco reasons and haven't had to dry it there yet
Good for those with disabilities or anyone who struggles to put a cover on

Can you get winter tog rating ones?

I have a regular, lightweight, duvet 4.5tog Kingsize and whilst I can physically squash it into a standard washing machine their would be no room for movement and therefore it wouldn't be washed properly. So whilst these coverless duvets sound OK I can't see how you would keep it properly clean? Changing the covers is a pain and my duvets go to the cleaners periodically (its one of them 2 in 1 so I have the other half to use)

We have the NightOwl ones. I got them originally because both my children with ASD constantly removed their duvet covers! They love them because they are so soft and silky.

Ours are 10.5 tog and very cosy. I have a king size and it’s fits in the washing machine perfectly fine. Drys very fast over airer. They come with a bag they can be stored in too.

Right. Convinced to try the Night Owl. Ordered!
I'll update once it arrives.
