Can you cut curls out?

Might be a silly question but my DS has lovely curly locks. People have said to me don't get it cut as you'll cut his curls out. I can't keep it the length it is as it is irritating him and isn't fair on him.

Me and his dad both have curly hair so surely it's just genetics?

I'm going to get it cut tonight but feel I need to brave myself incase his beautiful curls go!

It sounds silly, I know Grin.

DS had a mop of golden curls. Not sure why it was golden I have auburn hair was never blonde and his father is of afro-carribean heritage.

Anyhow ..he needed a haircut. The curls came back but he is more of a dirty blonde now.

I have Auburn Celtic curls and dad has afro hair. So we always knew the curl would stay.

I shaved both of my dc's hair when they were 6 months old. Both of their hair grew back thicker, one was wavey like mine and the other poker straight like dh.

My DD had curls till she was 5, they were wispy and stayed fairly short, impossible to tie back. We had it cut and it grew poker straight from then on. OTOH DS's was straight as a baby and child, maybe a bit wavy. He grew it as a teen and it turned out to be ringletty when longer.

Yeah my eldest had lovely curls as a toddler until we had it cut short when he was 3 and they never came back.

My ds had beautiful blonde ringlets.

Had his hair cut when he was 2 and a half, they never came back.

Still has darker blonde hair now as a 19 year old and it’s very thick and wavy.

@QueenAdreena

Why are other people idiots?

Well, it is a bit idiotic to say to someone to not get their child’s hair cut just because it might stop being curly…what are they meant to do, grow it forever?

Yes....if they want to....it doesn’t make them idiots
