Just that. What's for tea/dinner in your house tonight? We were planning takeaway but not sure I fancy it, looking for inspiration...

I had tuna melt; daughter had a tin of spag Bol and OH had gnochhi.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 17/07/2021 18:10

Taco shells with cold fillings - green pepper and tomato sauce (from the freezer), cold rice and black beans, greens with garlic and chilli oil, plus yoghurt, tomato sauce and jalapenos.

Not sure can I bear to put the oven on to heat the taco shells though.

Rotisserie Chicken from Asda, Crusty Bread, Salad and Coleslaw (I wanted potato salad but Asda looked like it had been ravaged by locusts so took what I could get). Plus all the ice lollies and ice cream I can shovel in. 35 weeks pregnant and if I even look at the oven I’ll burst into flames.

StopGo · 17/07/2021 18:20

Lamb chops, fruity cous cous and tatziki.

storminabuttercup · 17/07/2021 18:25

Ooh some great ideas! Seems like everyone is melting same as me!

Greek mezze with octopus carpaccio and stuffed vine leaves, Greek salad and loads of dips and flatbread.

Knittingnanny · 17/07/2021 18:27

Home made breaded chicken strips with sweet chilli sauce and salad
On the local beach with the picnic basket enjoying the sun under an umbrella. Grandchildren all gone home and me and DH saying we love them them all dearly but....
So glad our days of taking tired hot grumpy little ones home from the beach and doing bedtime routine are over!
Your turn will come x

storminabuttercup · 17/07/2021 18:33

@Knittingnanny you sound like a lovely nanny!

We had pizzadilla which are pepperoni pizza quesadilla. Mexican and Italian fusion!

@BillyRaywasapreachersson

Hot dogs - I have sausages that need to be used as o defrosted them in a fit of absent minded stupidity earlier. They are the Richmond veggie ones and I'm hoping they are as nice as I have heard on MN.
Meat eaters seem to like them as they are very similar in taste and texture to meat sausages. I find them very salty but you’re right - they are very popular on here!
StupidNC · 17/07/2021 18:38

Roast chicken (fancy oven has it as a preprogrammed option so I've sat elsewhere whilst it boils the kitchen) and salads. Homemade tzatziki with cucumbers and mint from the garden. Cold cider to wash it down with.

Thesearmsofmine · 17/07/2021 18:39

Quiche, crispy potato slices and coleslaw.

2tired2bewitty · 17/07/2021 18:40

Leftover sandwiches from DH’s PCC away day. (They have been in the fridge since lunchtime rather than festering)

Twinkie01 · 17/07/2021 18:40

Calves lover, onions, bacon, mash potato and green beans.

DS's choice this week for Saturday night dinner. DD has already eaten as she went green when I told her what liver was

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/07/2021 18:42

I love calves liver, lucky you.
I've no idea what I'm having yet, tempted to phone a takeaway.

vampirethriller · 17/07/2021 18:45

Chicken nuggets and beans, raspberry cobbler.

Knittingnanny · 17/07/2021 18:51

@storminabuttercup ahh thank you! I think I’m a better nanny than I was a mummy! Far too many things to worry about when you are actively parenting. All I had to do this afternoon was search for pretty shells with a 3 year old, rock a baby to sleep in a buggy, take a 5 year old to the toilet and watch a 10 year old swim, heaven!

Fish and chips. Buggered if I'm cooking.

chipshopElvis · 17/07/2021 18:53

Kids are having left.over pasta bake. We ate having giant cous cous, roast veg and feta.

Codoftherings · 17/07/2021 18:58

Pizza 🍕

MaintainingPositivity · 17/07/2021 18:58

BBQ, too hot to put the oven on - I'm meltinggggggg

weekend2021 · 17/07/2021 19:10

Salmon with pesto, new potatoes, carrots, green beans and coleslaw ( yes, coleslaw with veg - weird I know Grin)

delilahbucket · 17/07/2021 19:37

Probably too late now, but inspiration for the future perhaps. We had buffalo chicken wings that didn't turn out how I thought but still good, polenta and garlic chips, blue cheese dip and celery. None of it how I imagined when I looked up the recipes but all delicious and worked well in the heat.
