Bridlington

We're going to Bridlington in a few weeks, staying very close to Gummers Wharf which looks quite central.

I was just wondering if any local folk or anyone who have been recently could tell me if that bit of the beach is good / if there are any parts of the beaches in Bridlington near there are good for rockpooling? And if there are any public toilets nearby that are open at the moment (planning ahead as we have small children!)? Are there boat trips going from that area too? My kids would really love to do that.

We've previously been to Scarborough and really love it, but don't know the Bridlington area at all so would really welcome any advice!

The shell shop was very popular with my kids, great fresh doughnuts. Spurn Point nearby is worth a visit and the inland lighthouse at Withernsea is unusual and has a museum and cafe. Locals are friendly, prices are reasonable and you don't get the feeling that because you are on holiday you are being ripped off. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

We like Jerome’s on the seafront - the food is average but the whole front opens up and you get a lovely view of the sea, which makes it worthwhile for a visit. Reasonable prices as well and a soft play area attached.

Nothing to add to the recommendations but we loved Brid! Went there for the first time last summer. Sewerby Hall was great but the beach was the main attraction.
