Present for nursery staff - need ideas

It's been an absolutely horrendous year but the staff at my DS's nursery have gone above and beyond. They've just been brilliant from start to finish and my son has come on so much in their care. He does term-term only and is finishing for the year soon and I'd like to get them a present to show how much I appreciate what they do for him.

He has a key worker but she's only there certain days and all the staff muck in together and he loves them all, so I'd like to acknowledge them all. There's 10 staff in total and I can spend around £50, maybe a littl. So that's either £5 per person or a larger shared gift. The only thing I can think of is a big box of nice chocolates.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I worked at a nursery yonks a go now. What I really appreciated was something from the child and good words from the parents. It's over 10 years since I left my last nursey position but I still have the cards with lovely personal letters from the parents and a picture stapled in from their child.

A lot of the gifts I got over the years were lovely but not suited to me personally. The cards, photos and pictures I keep in a special box.

@WithANameLikeDaniCalifornia

That’s why they get paid a salary
I'm a fully qualified nursery nurse and when I worked in a private nursery I worked in the baby room from 9.30 am to 6pm ( up from 7am getting my own children to school ) I got minimum wages, no sick pay, and 45 mins break for the whole day one half hour and one 15 minutes.

@SlothinSpirit

Thank you for all the ideas!

Good point about sharing gifts...I'll try to make sure all items are individually wrapped (so no shared boxes of chocolates/biscuits). I'm thinking a big box of wrapped iced biscuits, fancy chocolate bars, some mini bottles of wine/fizz and some face packs could be nice...then everyone could just take what they preferred.

I like the idea of a box of iced biscuits (all wrapped). The staff group in my son's nursery includes a couple of people who don't drink for religious reasons and a 25 year old man who does not appear to be interested in things other than football (which is probably why my DS loves him) so I can't think of anything other than cakes or biscuits!

@Attheendofthedaywhenallsaid

All lovely ideas (although if buying vouchers - may i suggest buy from independent coffee and pizza restaurants -nice to avoid lining the pockets of the billionaires even further).
Indeed. Plus costa coffee is a bit crap...

Was thinking one of of these with a star for DD's teachers. I have one myself and use it all the time!

I always gave a gift for her key worker, it really depended on the person. So a New Look one for her baby room, fancy stationary for her toddler one and book voucher for the pre-school one.

We gave ediables like chocolates, biscuits etc for the whole room staff.

DD had several male nursery workers during her time there so pamper hampers would be highly inappropriate.

I love the pizza voucher idea if the nursery isn't too big.

I've ordered the 4 staff half a dozen cupcakes each and her KW a personalised photo gift. As her kW loves personalised gifts.

When we finished nursery, some parents clubbed together and got a flower delivery subscription for 6 months. Think they were appreciated. Not sure of you could get a couple of months for £50 - maybe if there are offers?

A giant cookie or sheet cake with a personalised thank you message iced on?

Worked in a nursery for several years and the best present we ever received was a coffee machine and coffee pods for the staff room from one of the dads, it got used by everyone every day and when we ran out of pods we all chipped in a couple of pounds a month to refill it.
I always loved the little sentimental gifts too, I still have a little personalised hanging plaque I received one year, candles, chocolates and wine were always greatly received too!
