When are schools back in September?

Our schools go back on Tue 7 September this time. I'm wanting to find out if any other areas go back sooner - to see if holiday places might be quieter towards the end of the previous week.

So when do you go back and where are you? I'm just looking at England and Wales. I know Scotland go back well before us. Thank you.

Ours changed from 6th to 7th September this morning!

Monday 6th here, with inset days on 2nd & 3rd. We've changed our plans and managed to book a cottage for the week before (bank holiday week no less!) when we couldn't find anything the first week of August we'd originally been looking for. South West.

Might be worth looking for where you'd like to go on holiday and finding specific calendars as it varies across areas.

I'm in Norfolk and my dc are going back on the 6th but my DB has dc on the south coast who are back on the 2nd.

Break up on the 16th July, back on the 2nd September here. I set days on the 19th/20th/21st July.

Thursday 2nd September

Wednesday the 8th. We have INSET days 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th.

23rd August here. I'm in Leicestershire. Pretty sure Leicestershire is the only county in England that goes back in August. Last day of term is this Friday.

My dc have 8 weeks off. They break up on Friday 9th July and go back the week beginning the 6th of September.

12th August is when schools go back in my part of Scotland.

You;d be very welcome north of the border for your holiday. Except Queen Nicola seems to want to keep masks and restrictions far longer than other parts of the UK.

6th September in Cardiff

Mon 6th Sept but some years including my DD's, on Fri 3rd

Derbyshire, Monday 6th but most schools go back Wednesday1st/Thursday 2nd

I'm in wales and my DS goes back on 2 September. Term starts 1 sept but it's an inset day. We're on border with England and dd goes to high school in England. They officially starts 1 sept but I suspect she'll go in 2nd or 3rd

8th here. We also have 7 weeks off!! Can't be as bad as lock down though!

South coast, last day of term is 22nd July and they go back on Monday 6th Sept

1st Sept here The shortest summer ever I think.
