Well done!
It's the best feeling ever isn't it

Zebrahooves · 28/06/2021 19:54

Congratulations. Enjoy driving the dc around now.

InTheFamilyTree · 28/06/2021 20:13

Well done @BrownEyedGirl80! Am so pleased for you. Impressed you managed to get 3 test slots in 9 weeks.

My test is on Wednesday, fingers crossed!

Grampire · 28/06/2021 20:16

Huge congrats to you! It is such an amazing feeling. I passed mine nearly two years ago now (also 3rd attempt!) and I don't know how I ever managed before.

Good luck to those with their test coming up too. Smile

TheMadGardener · 28/06/2021 20:20

Congratulations! I did it in my 40s too, now I drive so much I can't imagine how I coped without. When I worked in London I really didn't need to drive but then when we moved back to the South West I really needed to. You will love the independence. The job I have now I couldn't get to without driving.

@BrownEyedGirl80
If I can please be nosy - how did you get it moved forward?

I'm using one of the apps and got it moved forward 2 months but it's still 2 months away and I'm not having any luck getting it brought closer. I'm amazed you managed to get 3 years in such a short period so any tips would be appreciated please. I'd love to be driving this summer.

And huge congratulations of course - enjoy your freedom 🙂

BrownEyedGirl80 · 29/06/2021 11:06

@Somuchgoo check the gov.uk site for cancellations every spare minute you have.I had the link on the home screen of my phone for easy access.I was checking every 2 mins that I was awake usually. If you type in to Google change driving test you will find it.Good luck x

Last minute cancellations come up fairly frequently Somuchgood - if you are prepared to take a test at 2 days notice you'll be golden for a last minute test. Download the Testi app and pay £9.99 for a month to receive real time push notifications of cancelled tests

BitPutOffNow123 · 29/06/2021 12:06

BrownEyedGirl80 congratulations, how many hours lessons did you do? Saw your post about it taking 11 months

I'm 29 and recently had my first driving lesson, put if off for years because it's so scary

Somuchgoo · 29/06/2021 12:11

I've been repeatedly searching for the past 6w and am happy with last minute. I also have a paid service, still nothing. I guess some locations have less cancellations than others. I'm not in a big city. Perhaps there's more flexibility with a large urban centre.

Todaytomorrowyesterday · 29/06/2021 12:14

We’ve been trying to get a cancellation = nothing so far!!
I’m constantly sat on the website hoping!

LimitIsUp · 29/06/2021 12:19

Download the Testi app and pay for the push notifications then. I paid a month for dd and managed to get a cancellation in that time

CambsAlways · 29/06/2021 12:21

Congrats

BrownEyedGirl80 · 29/06/2021 17:30

@BitPutOffNow123 I don't know exactly but 1.5 hour lessons weekly.I was test ready in February but covid delayed things.Dont be scared it'll click all of a sudden and you'll love it
