Moving to Lewes

Our house is sold and we’re on the move, but alas we don’t know where to go! My husband is very pro-Brighton and I am ‘nearly’ until I go there. It’s, ahem, vibrant. I’m wondering about Lewes and am hoping there’s some people out there who’ll be able to give me a heads-up? Ive also thought about Worthing, Chichester, Newquay, Exeter… I’ll be homeless in 8 weeks, I need to make a decision! Thanks all :)

Where are the rough parts of Alfriston?

Is there much aircraft noise over Shoreham? Obviously not so much over the last 18 months but, generally speaking?

I thought this too. I can’t even think of one slightly rough house!!

Lewes is lovely but as has already been pointed out it is full of rich people pretending they are not whilst being incredibly patronising at all times.

Bonfire is amazing but not a reason to actually live there.

For all those worrying about too much traffic and being stuck in jams, most of the south coast has pretty good public transport links. Definitely something to keep in mind if you are thinking of moving as most people trying to drive less these days or perhaps dont have a car or have teenagers they dont want to ferry everywhere.
