Tie dye 😥

I had a white top ruined with suncream stains. My bright idea was to buy a tie dye kit online and tie dye it.

My tie dye operation is failing badly.

My plan was for pink and green and yellow. I ran out from my colours and at that stage I didn't know what to try next so I decided on a blue and now it looks kinda like navy blue.

It's failing badly. I suspect I will be mopping the floors with my top instead of wearing it.

Was the top damp when you added the dye or dry? I dampen the item before I add any dye

Sorry to warn you but the amount of bleach required to bring that back to white will likely burn holes in the fabric. Speaking from experience! Might be better to give up on that piece and let someone else love it at a charity shop.

You need to soak it in soda crystals first. It helps the dye adhere properly or something clever.

And then get on YouTube and look at some tutorials. I love tie dying, but only with a specific plan and colours

You could try adding some more blue. It does look a bit CSI at the moment.

It looks quite punk

Bin it.

I left mine soaking in diluted bleach then washed it and it was back to white.
I'd be tempted to put more colour on that though.
