My doctors said both times I’ve got thrush but the swaps have come back clear! Loosing my mind here! Been on/off since 2018. Never suffered before having children. My partner hasn’t got it, I’ve cut down sugar & not wearing tight clothes or soaps etc. Also drinking probiotics Doctors don’t care.

So just to update - this all started in July for me and I’ve had times where the burning sensation disappears then comes back with vengeance.

I’ve had 3 swabs at 3 different times. The first two were done by the nurse at my local practice. The gp had sent me for them and ref to gynecologist ( waste of time). When the burning came back again I called the docs and happened to get an appointment with an amazing gp would happened to diagnose me with whooping cough 18 months before when 5 other doctors in the same week hadn’t picked it up!

Anyway, she examined me and said the v top of my vagina did look sore and inflamed. She did other swab just to check for different strains of thrush. I got my results yday and nothing was found. However, she said she would prescribe a kind a topical oestrogen. I immediately panicked thinking this is pre-menopause and I’m 32!! But she reassured me it’s not related at all. It’s probably that I did have an infection and that disrupted the balance down there. Oestrogen has really restorative properties and can just help bring everything back to normal.
Funnily enough when I got home I turned on the tv and This Morning was on - there was a doctor on there advising women who have vaginal soreness to ask there gp for oestrogen pessary - especially menopausal woman. She was saying so many women suffer in silence and are commonly misdiagnosed with thrush when oestrogen could fix the problem.

Might be something worth trying or looking into if you are suffering. I’m going to pick up my prescription today.

Just a little update. I’m still getting nowhere! I’ve seen a gyne again & they don’t think it’s Lichen sclerosus. I’m now taking probiotics as recommend by woman’s health. I have also had an ultrasound & they said I have Adenomyosis too. I still have the urge to go to the toilet which is driving me mad. Also recently my stitches have started to hurt 19 months on from delivery. The doctors won’t even examine me now. I think I may go private

I had this. Have you tried a course of itraconzole?

Then lotriderm and then trimovate cream? Finally cleared it.

Good luck op it's grim. Try and get antibiotics for trichimaniosis. Have you tried the GUM clinic too as a nurse suggested to me. Apols for spellings but should be understandable.
