Best comeback to scam callers?

I’ve been called four times today by the ‘National Crime Agency’ to be told that my national insurance number is about to be revoked.

The number is a normal mobile number. I rang it back once out of curiosity and a lady answered whose elderly mother has also been on the receiving end of this stuff - it seems they’re mimicking other peoples numbers so it doesn’t just show as ‘unknown caller’

It makes me so annoyed. Is there anyway to inconvenience these CFs? If I don’t hang up will it hold the line and waste their phone bill? Or should I just come up with a good comeback?

I just say no and put the phone down. I assume that if they're spending all day, every day making these calls, they've heard pretty much every response before.

I've been getting the prerecorded scam calls about NI this week, getting a couple a day on my mobile. Scammer tend to call the landline IME so it's unusual.

The ones I get are nearly all just recordings - two in one day the other day of ‘You’re in deep trouble with HMRC - press one NOW or you’re going to be arrested,.’

So I don’t even have the satisfaction of telling them to fuck off.

How funny as I was reading through this my phone rang with a robot threatening to revoke my NI number!
When I was in my twenties if would usually call them the worst word. Now when they call about the car accident I put on a spooky voice and say ‘oh no, it was very much my fault, I needed to make them pay’.

This is the greatest response ever.

Ive had a call every day from the NCA with the creepy voice guy. I text back with a simple FUCK OFF but its never the same number calling. I need more satisfaction and a reaction!

Last time I told ‘officer Alan’ my name was Winnie DiPu but he did twig, albeit five minute later.
