Water bill increase - what do you pay?

I’ve just had a letter through from the water company saying our monthly payment is increasing to £45 per month from next month

This is for 2 adults and 2 young children.

Does this seem like a lot?

Before they forced us to be metered we were unmetered and paid £28 a month

Did you know if you suffer from a skin condition psoriasis / eczema etc then you can get a special tariff.

I have been doing this for years, pay £34 a month instead of £60. Unmetered.

It’s worth checking with your individual company (although they all seem to do something similar) some cover other medical conditions too.

(I’m with Anglian water, it’s called water sure tariff)

Sorry I should of said I do have a water meter.

And also it’s subject to meeting certain criteria. Best to check!

I never knew this! I have one of the conditions mentioned and DH has another so surely we qualify!

Oh, I spoke too soon. I'm with Thames Water and you have to be on means tested benefit AND have one of the listed conditions (or 3 or more children) so we won't qualify.

£128 a month . 2 adults , 3 bed detached, large garden which gets a lot of water in the spring/summer.

Forgot to mention, South West.

We were paying 29 a month but when we moved this year it went up to 55 a month. That’s for 2 adults unmetered. I am thinking of swapping to a meter

£40 a month but I'm fairly sure we're in quite a lot of credit right now.

2 adults, 2 children, one weekend teenage visitor.
