Non alcoholic drinks - which are actually nice?

I did a search but two words are too much for the search. Also could be worded as alcohol-free I guess. Grin

I’m seeing loads of new alcohol free drinks. Any of them taste nice?

Tonic water with ice and lime

Isababybel · 10/06/2021 22:48

Sainsburys do a nice alcohol free prosecco, i enjoyed it whilst pregnant.
It might not bother you but there is 50g of sugar in those 500ml AF Kopparbergs, i bought one also while pregnant but had to pour it away! I am by no means strict with my sugar intake but that is just too much.

I think Aecorn looks promising

Stowford Press AF cider actually tastes like proper cider.

I tried Seedlip for the first time at the weekend- had a sip of it before adding my tonic water and it just tasted of nothing. Given that it’s more expensive than some actual gins I don’t think I’ll be buying a bottle any time soon!

Vinorosso74 · 10/06/2021 23:59

I quite like the Gordon's AF G&Ts. We have a great independent beer shop near us and they have a good range of alcohol free beers. My favourite is called Implosion. Some of the Brewdog ones are good (not sure it's a good day to be recommending them mind).
Sadly, I haven't found a decent wine yet.

Alcohol free Freixenet is surprisingly nice. I almost felt I was having the real deal!
AF kopperberg is yummy too but very sweet!
Fever tree tonic water - nice flavours and you can almost imagine there’s gin in there.

MothersPridePlain · 11/06/2021 00:37

Kopparberg
Heineken 0

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/06/2021 02:01

hot chocolate

@vimtosogood

Water, coffee and tea are all nice.
How about vimto? Grin
HeronLanyon · 11/06/2021 03:06

Seedlip (I like the garden one) is ok but so expensive.
I think actually it’s as effective doing an iced tonic/water with eg mint or bitters or orange zest etc etc and just not bothering our a thimbleful costing a fiver in as well !
Old stylée i rather like an alcohol free beer if I’m cutting down for any reason. Always found them to be the most ‘successful’ af drinks.

dogrilla · 11/06/2021 06:22

Belle&co 0% pink fizz is cheap on Amazon and not too sugary. Has a good bite to it that hits the spot. Not keen on any other fake Prosecco.

Best spirit substitute by far is Martini Vibrante - delicious with tonic and, again, not too sugary. Bottle is a tenner and lasts ages.

Something and Nothing seltzers are really nice too if you're after a 'posh' non-alcoholic drink.

Dozer · 11/06/2021 06:24

Good old soft drinks!

AwkwardSquad · 11/06/2021 06:35

I enjoy Fevertree and Fentimans tonics and sodas, Erdinger AF lager, Infinite Session IPA, Brewdog Punk AF IPA and Hazy pale ale, and I’ve also tried a couple of the Big Drop AF beer range which I enjoyed. IPA style seems to work well as an AF beer.

I’ve tried Seedlip and thought it was pointless. Barely any flavour and quite expensive.

alianangel · 11/06/2021 12:44

I love the Spencer Matthew’s alcohol free rhubarb and ginger gin. I’m not a fan of Gordon’s alcohol free gin, I think it has a strange aftertaste.

Ladysobermcsoberton · 11/06/2021 13:01

My favourites are...

AF beers
hoegaarden
peroni
Bavaria wit

Seedlip cans with grapefruit or lemongrass tonic

M and S AF mojito.

San pelligrino bitters with tonic.

Best AF wine I've tried is oddbirds blanc de blanc. Not cheap though.

@Dozer

Good old soft drinks!
I find them too sweet. Could maybe have a bitter lemon I suppose.

Another vote for Koppaberg.

Frownette · 11/06/2021 18:00

I'm like @Candleabra and don't like non-alcohol alcohol.

There are some lovely drinks around, you could try a can of ginger shot with sparkling water and ice, a lady on here makes virgin pina colada which sounded nice.

I'm currently quite addicted to Robinsons sparkling raspberry. Water with lemon is nice and I love ginger beer. I also like kombucha as mentioned by pp.

Livpool · 11/06/2021 18:05

Tesco do a cherry lemonade that is 50p and delicious

CaptainHammer · 11/06/2021 18:10

Beavertown Lazer Crush IPA is my favourite. I also like the Kopparberg pear cider but that is quite sweet!

LemonDrizzles · 12/06/2021 16:46

I agree about Seedlip.
I recently got into having water (bottled, yes I know I am killing the planet as if I'm sticking a knife in it.... ), ice, mint and lemon (a bit squeezed and then dropped in.)
I used to enjoy Cranberry Juice 1/2 and 1/2 with perrier.
someone came around the other day with non-alcoholic leffe, which is like the champagne of beers.
I recently found chamomile tea to be very smooth
my other half makes a non-alcoholic lemongrass tea cocktail (that includes lemonade) that we get compliments on

Snog · 12/06/2021 16:52

Frozen raspberries in the blender with orange juice is our go to party drink.

SwimBaby · 12/06/2021 16:53

Lemonade and elderflower cordial is lovely.
