Anti chaffing tights

Hi Follks

So summer has hit and I love wearing nice summer dresses but the thing chaff is something serious. I've seen that M&S have these but not great reviews about them. I've seen others online. Just not sure what's best. Anyone any suggestions? Have you tried any that are a good buy?

Thanks Smile

I have to say, I really rate these. I can't think of anything worse than putting another layer on when it's hot and I want to wear a dress. I don't know how people cope with shorts and tights and stuff to be honest.

www.bandelettes.com/shop/

They're made to measure for your legs, so light and you can't see them at all.

SpringBluebellWoods · 06/06/2021 22:11

I get eczema using creams etc so have tried lots. M&S and Big Bloomers were ok but rucked up as I walked and the M&S ones weren’t cotton and felt too nylony. Cheapo Amazon ones were cotton but had the same riding up problem but even worse.

Sainsbury’s ones in the two pack (black and white) are brilliant - I’ve just bought some more and am replacing my other ones.

Another vote for Snags!

Snag chub rub shorts or body glide, it’s really expensive though and needs to be reapplied

SpookieDookie · 06/06/2021 23:01

I use stick deodorant on my thighs in chaffing area and it works really well

TheTempest · 06/06/2021 23:04

Snag shorts here too- I’ve found them amazing

Hopefully the link works! I'm normally a 14 and got 12-14, they fit perfect, not too tight at all

MrMeeseekslookatme · 06/06/2021 23:19

Another vote for Snag Chub Rub shorts. They are really thin and I don't get too hot in them.

Liquid talc isn't very good IMO.

Jloco · 06/06/2021 23:19

Snag are absolutely fantastic!

BashfulClam · 06/06/2021 23:43

I tried body glide and liquid talc, they wore off. I have breathable anti chafe shorts from the big bloomer company. I also like bandelettes, they are stretchy bands with a silicon strip that go around your thighs. It’s important to measure correctly or they roll and don’t work. I wore them for a full day at work and they didn’t budge all day.

HumphreyTheBandit · 07/06/2021 01:00

Primark do these now! They’re like shorts but made out of normal tights material!

BritInAus · 07/06/2021 03:17

Stick deodorant user here too, life changer! If I'm actually 'going walking' eg around a city all day on holiday, I'll wear proper anti-chafe shorts OR just short 100% cotton bike shorts, but for everyday in hot weather (working in an office) I use stick deodorant... haven't chaffed since I started doing that. I used a brand called 'lady speed stick' as someone recommended it, but don't know if it really matters or not.

queenofmycastlex · 07/06/2021 06:16

Best thing I have ever found for chafing is this stuff called Glide Body or Body Glide (not sure what way round the name is). It’s like a roll on balm that marathon runners etc use and it’s changed my life. No need for tights or anything it is incredible! A few shops do it so just google and it’ll come up. I use the blue one. I can’t rave about it enough!

Bagelsandbrie · 07/06/2021 07:04

Another vote for Snag chub rub shorts but I like to size up slightly as otherwise find them uncomfortable as the day goes on. I really don’t like anything tight!

Fifthtimelucky · 07/06/2021 08:37

I agree with the Body Glide recommendation. It was a game changer for me when I was working and had a 30 minute walk each way as part of my daily commute. I used to apply it in the morning, take it with me and apply again before leaving work as a precaution.

The second application may not have been necessary but I didn't leave work until at least 11 hours after the first application, so didn't want to risk it having worn off.

MaMelon · 07/06/2021 08:42

Does Body Glide work in very hot weather? I tried something similar in the special hell that are the Disney parks and it just melted and ran down my legs in a sweaty gloop.

HazeyJaneII · 07/06/2021 08:44

Stick deodorant works well.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 07/06/2021 08:44

Another Snag devotee!

I don’t find the extra layer too hot at all- makes me feel less anxious that my flippy summer dresses will blow up with the breeze as well

MsChatterbox · 07/06/2021 08:50

I just wear a pair of cheap cycling shorts.

MirandaMarple · 07/06/2021 09:21

I got some from ASOS, they're a very thin material, which is vital in hot weather. They're very comfy and don't wear knickers with them, even cooler.

AprilAzpilicueta · 07/06/2021 09:22

Snag are amazing!

3kidsareenough · 07/06/2021 16:48

Thanks everyone. I've ordered from Snag 🤗 I think I'm going to order some of that blue body glide too (just to try as well)

I hate the thought of over heating with extra layers or them riding up my leg like the sucky in pants used to do. Drove me mad. Excited now that this summer might mean dresses and no dread!

Thanks again Smile
