Driving Licence Renewal Timescale

Has anyone recently applied for a new photo licence through the post?

My licence expired last year and I only realised recently. I sent the form, cheque and photo to the DVLA about 6 weeks ago but have heard nothing. My cheque hasn't even been cashed yet

Has anyone else applied through the post and if so how long did your new licence take to arrive

I got no reply to my tweet to them but when I checked my licence online it shows it being valid from June 6th so hopefully should arrive any day

My new licence arrived today. Very fast!

I applied for mine online last week (replacement for lost) and the card arrived in the post today!! Couldn't believe how fast it was given what I had read in the press about delays.

Dh got his within a week

Mine expired mid May. I renewed it end May (online, no new photo needed) and received it after 3 days.

Mine finally arrived on Saturday. 7 weeks after I posted the paperwork.

My son passed his driving test last Tuesday and his new licence arrived on Saturday! I was so surprised, we thought it would take weeks months

@Redglitter thanks for this. Have been panicking as I also couldn't renew my photo online and had to send application by post along with my proof of ID... and a cheque! I'm currently at three weeks wait by mine expires 8 July. Hoping they can speed it up!!
